Giving USA 2024 numbers are in, and they're not painting a pretty picture for the philanthropic sector. Despite a booming economy and record-high stock market gains, charitable giving took a nosedive in 2023. Here are the hard facts: 📉 Giving fell by 2.1%, despite a booming economy. 📉 Donor numbers dropped across the board, from everyday givers to mega-donors. 📉 Individual giving as a share of disposable income hit a near all-time low at 1.9%. As fundraisers, the ball is in our court. We have the tools and the insights to turn this around. Learn more about what this means for your FY 24/25 fundraising strategies in our full article: 🔗 https://hubs.la/Q02DhKBb0

You're about to get bombarded with Giving USA data reports. Most will just regurgitate the data. Was giving in 2023 up or down? Which nonprofit sectors saw the most philanthropic revenue? We believe that statistics without context are a waste of time. Each year, the Winkler Group’s Giving USA Takeaways are considered the best in the field. Two things make our summary required reading: ➡️ Insider info: Winkler Group CEO Jim Bush is a member of the Giving USA Editorial Review Board, giving us direct access to the data. ➡️ WIIFM: Our takeaways pass both the "So What" and "What's in It for Me" tests. We provide practical insights you can use in conversations with board members, share with donors, and apply to boost your giving. Make sure to follow Winkler Group and watch for our Giving USA Takeaways next Tuesday. #givingusa
