Anja Boyce (she/her) joined RS almost one year ago (with her anniversary in just two days time). She is a Continuous Improvement Business Partner and we caught up with her to find out what life has been like during the past 12 months. Hi Anja, what does a typical day look like in your role? Anja: My role supports building CI capability across a number of functions and broadly comprises coaching improvement initiatives through our training and certification programme and facilitating and upskilling teams in problem-solving, which can take a variety of forms. When I’m home based, my days are pretty evenly split between Teams calls initiating or progressing improvement activity or desk based preparation and evaluation. I’m also contributing to how CI at RS is evolving to align with the changing needs of the organisation. When I’m at one of our office locations, typically I’m facilitating teams through changes to their ways of working. Each team has different experiences and dynamics and I love the variety and challenge this presents. What is your favourite thing about working at RS? Anja: In every interaction I’ve had so far, working with different teams to navigate through whatever improvement they’re looking to implement, I’ve been humbled by the authentic team camaraderie I’ve experienced. RS colleagues care about their work and want to positively impact the success of the company and colleague experience. Do you have a favourite memory so far? Anja: In my role, my biggest sense of achievement comes from seeing how CI thinking and practice empowers colleagues. During a recent workshop with one of our People teams, the decision was made to remove two projects from the strategic plan. I could see how great energised and confident they about making that decision and we discussed how it would help them focus on other work that would make a greater impact. #RSLife #CI #WeAreRS #OurPeople
