Carl UR Mitchem When it's all said and done is it ever documented? Will the Cincinnati Ohio scene merely live in the minds and hearts of those who were there to witness and experience it? If this man has anything to do or say about it, the answer is no! Carl On Call is there to record and document the where to go, what to do, and musical manusia in the Greater Cincinnati Area. The video and audio archives of this area is being recorded and saved. Still making moves and documenting the moves of others. Creator/ Host at Put Up Or Shut Up Player Haterz Nation and works at Creator /Host/ Producer at The Coaches Commentators & The Players with the Hall of Fame JB and Production Manager at The Lady Devine Show On Busy 1 Back in 2018 I gave him KUDOS: ~ Kudos to Carl UR Mitchem! Why? His 'lists' that include but are not limited to Top Beat Boxing champions in Cincinnati, Greatest Producers & Beat Makers of all time, The Pioneers the 1st to put it Down, and others. It is interesting and moving to see his choices and also to see the comments. It has been a bit of a conversation starter and might prompt others to create their own lists which would result in even more conversation to further uplift and honor the deep and rich history in this region. #LocalHistory #RegionalHistory #JoinTheCelebration #GetInWhereYouFitIn #HipHopBeBopDontStop #WhoAreYOURHiddenFigures? I’m trying to start a positive movement by sharing #MyHiddenFigures throughout #BlackHistoryMonth. I seek not to take away from Black History Month. I seek to add positive energy to it. There seems to be a push for inclusion and acceptance, but there is a lot to celebrate and many people's champions all around us. I'll be posting images daily of folks who may have impacted me personally. Everyone may have someone like that. We might not make a movie but we might start a movement. If you like this idea please follow suit and share YOUR Hidden Figures on social media platforms throughout the entire month of February. #HiddenFigures #MyHiddenFigures #BlackLivesMatter #BlackHistoryMonth #BlackHistoryMatters

Today is Juneteenth, an impactful day across North America for reflection, remembrance and celebration. From science, business and law, to sport, art and entertainment, Black communities have always and continue to make significant contributions to the fabric of our continent. For the Consulate General of Canada in Los Angeles, supporting links between Black communities across our continent is a priority. Two of our major programs include: The Black Music Managers program, within the Canadian Creative Accelerator (CCA) – Trade commissioners from our consulates in Los Angeles and New York joined forces to create the Black Musing Managers program in collaboration with Breaking Down Racial Barriers to build capacity and to facilitate introductions to the principal actors in the industry, paving the way for partnerships between Canadians and Americans. The Black Tech Express program, which supports Canadian startups founded or led by Black Canadians seeking venture capital in Southern California. The startup accelerator is focused on Los Angeles, offering high-intensity services to high-growth tech companies led by Black entrepreneurs interested in expansion, capital and commercial opportunities in Southern California and beyond. Check out this video on the Black Music Manager Program!

In this segment, Nkem Oghedo is talking about the Adá marketplace platform specifically. One thing I love about what she's sharing here is: Adá shifts power to its vendors by enabling them to set their own prices. If you're looking for Black History Month team-building programming for your team that puts the money and the power in the hands of Black entrepreneurs, check out Adá! Looking for other types of programs to support your team? Or want to do more than one? I'd love to chat!

Black Creatives Matter. Black Agencies Matter. Black Agency Matters. True marketing goes beyond trite stereotypes. It goes to the heart of what people want and need…representation, appreciation, and social responsibility. Inspire and Be Inspired.
This month, I asked Black creatives to share their favorite campaign that they feel authentically speaks to their culture and community in hopes to create a sort of database of work that *actually* feels representative and mindful of the Black experience. With more than a third of Black consumers feel they're not adequately represented in advertising (per a Nielsen study), maybe more of the industry should take note of their peers' responses. Thank you to Keisha Townsend Taitt, Terrence Burrell, Desmond Marzette, andre gray, Kaleeta McDade, Aaron Francois, Danisha Lomax, Jason LaFlore, Courtney Richardson, Mark Graham, and Steven Howze for contributing your thoughts! 💜 Full story on Campaign US 💜 https://lnkd.in/eKQ3YHmt

Global Human Resources Business Partner & People Operations | Enhancing Employee Engagement & Business Strategy through Data-Driven Insights
The other day I posted an article written by Nicquel Terry Ellis from CNN on Diversity Equity and Inclusion. I tagged Nicquel and to my surprise, she commented. Almost as soon as I did I got private messages alluding to 'using my platform wisely.' One of the people who commented was Gillian Marcelle, PhD. (See Dr. Marcelle's post below) The point these individuals were making was that oft times white individuals use platform and privilege to further their own agenda, especially on topics for which they have no lived experience. In this specific case, that would have taken the form of me getting Nicquel's attention and using the platform to make myself look better, to bring attention for selfish purpose, instead of being responsible and ensuring that the story, the voice that Nicquel was hearing was the RIGHT story. (super run on sentence sorry) Now, did I need a reminder to use my platform responsibly? Internally, I know how I operate, most people that know me know how I operate. Yet, when you step back and look at it from a broader perspective, how many times has a white person had opportunities and acted irresponsibly? From that standpoint the reminder is understood and appreciated. Fast Forward... I spoke to Nicquel this morning and yes, I shared my story, but I also made it very clear a LOT of people have a story. The question is, which story needs to be told. After our conversation, I introduced Nicquel to a number of colleagues and friends. I hope Nicquel gets to hear all of their stories, and while it would be incredible to be featured by CNN, what is more important to me is that the RIGHT story gets told. This is my responsibility as an accomplice, a co conspirator, a husband a father, but most importantly, as a human being. So what's your story? #responsibility #columbusing https://lnkd.in/etir4X83
"Has the U.S. moved on from post-floyd racial reckoning?" CNN asks over a panel that has what appears to be NO Black people on it. The Chris Wallace Show on CNN just had a whole discussion about DEI without any Black people on the panel. The topic of anti-DEI, as we all know, is an issue that is mainly targeting the Black community. When Black issues hit the mainstream press, however, our voices are most often forgotten, and we are either spoken for — or to — by voices that fail to grasp the nuances of the issues that impact us. I cannot fathom how, after last week, anyone would still continue with a DEI panel without one Black voice, as if our perspectives are not worth helping shape and craft the narrative that is impacting us.

Kenyatta Vada Smith What letters can make words to create sentences that formulate descriptive phrases to describe this man? I'll just try. Award Winning Curator of Stereo '23 A Celebration of DJs, Twitch Partner, On Air Announcer, Live Streamer, Tiny Island DJ, on and on and on. I remember one year when I picked a former classmate but now Assistant Professor & Founding Director, Center for Community Resilience at The George Washington University, as one of #MyHiddenFigures something was said like 'but I'm not hidden.' I thought, even if you're out there banging the drum as loud as you can, there may be a few folks who don't hear that sound. This entry is something like that. Are you all familiar with "Hey Mon" the Hedley Family (the hard-working British West Indian/Jamaican Hedley family) from In Living Color? I mean, what can't this man do? Our real life super hero, DJ, Fireman, Cook, community leader, and whatever else he wants to be is literally doing just about everything. I can't keep up. WE can't keep up! Resources: https://www.djvmixx.com/ https://lnkd.in/eCFEXij2 #WhoAreYOURHiddenFigures? I’m trying to start a positive movement by sharing #MyHiddenFigures throughout #BlackHistoryMonth.
