Lee and I took our family to Normandy twelve years ago. Today is the 80th anniversary of D-Day. May we never minimize the price of freedom. “At the core, the American citizen soldiers knew the difference between right and wrong, and they didn't want to live in a world in which wrong prevailed. So they fought, and won, and we all of us, living and yet to be born, must be forever profoundly grateful,” Stephen E. Ambrose. #DDay

Tara, I’m sure your experience was much like mine, life changing! I’ll never forget hearing your father speak when I was in high school. Thanks to the many great men like him who helped ensure our freedom! 🇺🇸❤️

Tara: Dr Bob and I went to Normandy approximately15/20 years ago. There are no words to express our emotions. Thank you for this post. We stayed there for three days instead of the planned option of staying one day.

I love Ambrose’s quote…who knew that 80 years after these men were willing to die for what they knew was right, we would be fighting in our own country over attempts to redefine that moral certainty!
