We recently hosted our 5th annual Pro Bono Nonprofit Legal Clinic to support and assist #nonprofits in need of legal assistance. The event was organized by the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law Entrepreneurial Legal Services Clinic and planned in coordination with KANSAS LEGAL SERVICES, INC. and the Mid-America Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel. Our attorneys were paired with in-house counsel from local nonprofits who were then matched with a nonprofit client based on its legal needs and the attorneys' area of practice. Through the clinic, attorneys provided limited-scope legal guidance on a variety of topics, including governance systems, policies and procedures, employee manuals, lease/agreement review and intellectual property. "We are grateful for the annual Pro Bono Nonprofit Legal Clinic provided by Stinson and ACC Mid-America attorneys from local businesses. Their in-depth knowledge has been instrumental in building our capacity as a nonprofit organization, allowing us to focus on what matters most, advancing our mission and driving positive change in the communities we serve," Center for Supportive Communities Founder and Executive Director Kelsey Dachman said after the clinic.
