Homo Faber 2024: The Journey of Life curated by the Michelangelo Foundation This September travel to Venice to discover a celebration of contemporary craftsmanship. For this third edition, art directors Luca Guadagnino and Nicolò Rosmarini will take visitors on a journey through a human life, exploring life's special moments and everyday simplicities through the lens of craftsmanship. Meaningful milestones will be celebrated with hundreds of unique objects handcrafted by skilled artisans according to specific techniques. From childhood to travel, romance to dreams, Homo Faber 2024 will showcase the craftsmanship behind the objects that accompany life's most precious moments across the spaces of Fondazione Giorgio Cini. "The Journey of Life is an invitation to discover, and maybe rediscover, the importance of hand-made meaningful objects, of time-honoured traditions, of skilful gestures and human talent in our everyday life. Every moment is precious, and deserves to be savoured and celebrated: but there are some very special occasions that, whoever we are and wherever we are, mark a turning point in our lives, and are normally accompanied by special objects which assume a special significance" says Alberto Cavalli, Executive Director of the Michelangelo Foundation. Watches and Wonders is back with its 2024 Shanghai edition After Geneva, China will host the 2024 Shanghai edition of Watches and Wonders, to be held from August 28 to September 1, 2024, at the West Bund Art Center. Reserved for professionals for the first two days, the event will then open its doors to the general public for the first time over a long 3-day weekend, from Friday to Sunday inclusive. The programme has been designed for all – those completely new to horology, along with watch enthusiasts or experienced collectors. Discover The Human Essence of Watchmaking by FHH - Fondation Haute Horlogerie The Fondation Haute Horlogerie (FHH) is hosting its next cultural event with the exhibition "Watches and Talents", from June 6th to September 2nd, 2024. This exhibition highlights the craftsmanship of eight talented professionals working behind the watchmaking scenes, through video portraits filmed by director Thibault Vallotton, presented alongside everyday objects of their quotidian, each telling their unique story. "At FHH, we continually offer new exhibitions and cultural activities designed to appeal to everyone, highlighting the watch as an object of art and culture. But with the Watches and Talents' exhibition, we reveal the lives behind the scenes, reminding us that the beating heart of watchmaking remains human. Montblanc is celebrating 100 years of Meisterstück To mark a century since Montblanc's icon – The Meisterstück that was first introduced in 1924 – our Maison has partnered with director and screenwriter Wes Anderson to create a campaign that journeys into its extraordinary world as seen through the filmmaker’s eyes. Featuring actors Rupert Friend, Jason Schwartzman, and Wes Anderson as its three colourful guides, the film takes you on a tour through our Maison’s headquarters atop the summit of none other than Mont Blanc. “For 100 years, The Meisterstück has captured millions of stories, passing through the hands of authors, creatives, and everyday writers.
