Discover our sixth story with  Berrak Özakman HR Manager for Richemont Turkey,  as she shares insights on her career journey thus far, as well as precious advice for leveraging a successful career.

How would you describe your career journey so far?

With a passion for people and relationships, I love being in the Human Resources function. After graduating and gaining experience in the textile engineering industry, I began my retail journey in an international fast-fashion company, from store management to human resources management in different brands within the same company for 11 years.

I found my skills in the people field while performing and enjoying my daily job by interacting with team members and clients. From the beginning, my biggest motivation has been supporting people in their journey.

I started as HR Manager for the Richemont Turkey organisation, where the total population was around 35 people in 2019.

As per my previous experience, I handled the HR function with a 360° approach ranging from Talent Acquisition, Learning&Development, Talent Management, Internal Communications, Administration & Payroll, and CSR-DEI representative of the market and our beautiful Maisons.

I am pleased to mention that we have been working together with all of our colleagues and enthralled our "ME to WE" motto by our Richemont values: collegiality, solidarity, freedom and loyalty.

Now our HR department includes 3 HR experts. We are proud to represent Turkey's HR Department in this thriving and fast-growing environment by introducing new members to our Richemont family daily.

What career advice would you like to share?

Enjoy your work - try to explore your motivators and skills during your professional activities. Never hesitate to ask, keep learning and improving yourself...and of course, have fun!
