Today, NYSDOT Commissioner Marie Therese Dominguez, alongside NYS Lieutenant Governor Antonio Delgado, Congressman Pat Ryan, NYS Senator Michelle Hinchey, and local representatives, announced the reopening of the Wurts Street Bridge. Closed since 2020, this historic landmark in Kingston, connecting to Port Ewen in Ulster County, has been rehabilitated to enhance safety and resilience for travelers.
The restoration underscores Governor Hochul’s commitment to investing in projects that improve public safety, reconnect communities, and promote well-being across New York State. Commissioner Dominguez emphasized, “This iconic bridge has united Kingston and Port Ewen for over a century, and with this project's completion, we ensure it continues to do so safely for years to come.”
