🦺 This week is Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance's Operation Safe Driver Week and we at Motive share close ties to this mission: reducing unsafe driving behaviors and preventing unsafe events on the roadways. Unsafe driving behaviors are closely correlated with risk of crashes. According to American Transportation Research Institute, drivers with reckless driving citations are 114% more likely to be involved in crashes. 🛑 Motive is driven to protect and committed to Zero Harm and Zero Preventable Accidents on North America’s roadways. U.S. roads remain devastatingly dangerous, with 44,000 fatalities in driving incidents last year alone. This week for #NSM, we want to remind everyone of #RoadwaySafety because with summer driving season underway, there will be more crowded roads and dangerous construction zones. Make sure to protect your employees from motor vehicle related incidents – the #1 cause of work-related deaths – with NSC Driver Safety training, including defensive driving courses and Fleet Essentials training. The National Safety Council NSC, founded 111 years ago in 1913 is one of the 1,000 clients in 145 countries worldwide misled by the UK Government owned Transport Research Laboratory TRL one-way road, Highway Code Emergency Braking Distances after Thinking Time which was introduced by Parliament on 31 07 1946. In 1996, TRL was privatised and 78 years later, representatives of TRL and the UK Government are not prepared to admit to their mistake because of the Legal and Financial Consequences and the raft of claims which would follow from the next of kin of thiose fatally injured and injured, because of the mistake. Stating that a road is dangerous for 113 years, is like saying the pen or paper is dangerous when the author of a report makes mistakes, misspells words or uses incorrect grammar, or The ball and playing area is dangerous when an incorrectly trained player is incapable of playing a game. It is time for the National Safety Council NSC to admit to their use of TRLs one-way road emergency braking distance mistake for normal driving on two-way roads. My research is based on VBOX measurements and outlined at drivingscorecard.com. https://lnkd.in/e_nA253g

I love that real studies are the basis for the driver safety initiatives.
I help organizations not kill drivers by leveraging Behavior Based Automated Driver Training. Driver training was severely broken...we fixed it! We can reduce risky driver behavior by up to 73% with minimal management.
How are driver safety initiatives created? Are they solely based on numbers and simulated accidents? Or are they based on REAL drivers and REAL accidents? If you've ever had doubts about whether specific safety initiatives are relevant and applicable to your real-life driver issues - Matt Camden is here to save the day. Tune in to hear how Virginia Tech Transportation Institute runs its studies on safety initiatives and why the way they do it makes it more applicable to real-life driver issues. They're testing safety programs to help real-world situations, not simply to look good in a lab setting. #SafetySavvyTuesday #VTTI #DistractedDriving #StayFocused #RoadSafetyNow #predictivecoach #geotab #fleetsafety
