For the healthcare folks: Is there any justification for physician non-competes, esp in primary care? They trouble me on many levels, and I would love to see the practice end. We shouldn’t be stifling the professional development of primary care clinicians.

I recently joined HHS Secretary Becerra and Congresswoman Grace Meng for an important discussion on the role of language in health care. At Charles B. Wang Community Health Center we see the clear link of same-language care and better health. I’m amazed daily at our multilingual clinical staff who provide great care to New Yorkers, including some of the most vulnerable.

The staff at Charles B. Wang Community Health Center cared for patients throughout the worst parts of the pandemic and delivered 40,000 vaccines and counting in hard-hit communities. We thank the Mayor for recognizing them yesterday with his proclamation. Many have delayed addressing basic preventative care and mental health in the past year. So our team is working harder than ever, and is recruiting great clinicians and medical leaders across many fields. Join our team!
