I would argue that one of the most challenging (and rewarding) aspects of digital marketing is that it is constantly changing.
Strategies shift. Algorithms change. Software is updates on a daily basis.
It's exhilarating. It's demanding. But I'm fortunate to be surrounded by an exceptionally innovative and knowledgeable team, where continuous learning is a shared commitment.
Yet, I acknowledge the challenge it presents. What's most challenging aspect in your industry?

"You can’t have a growth mindset without being vulnerable about what you need to grow in." - Yamini Rangan
The old idea of "don't ever show weakness" is outdated, especially for leaders! I stand behind the idea that we must acknowledge our mistakes, identify areas for growth, and be transparent in our conversation.
Like Yamini said, it is on us to embrace vulnerability and let it drive our growth and our team's development. #CultivateGrowth

"Well, you can't edit a blank page."
This was a response I came across to the quote, "Done is better than perfect."
And it's true. Perfectionism can paralyze progress.
As leaders, especially within marketing, the journey from idea to implementation is where true growth happens. This is where the real value lies!

🎙️Hey friends. I've decided that every Monday in Q3 2024 I'm going to post my thoughts on marketing as well as other topics. These are short, five minute or less pieces of "snackable" audio content. 🎙️ Link to the full episode is below in the comments.
This week I'm sharing my thoughts on why leaders should be out and volunteering in our communities. For me, its been super rewarding. You'll learn where I volunteer my time, how I chose my causes, and how much of a blessing it has been for me.
Would LOVE your feedback on this idea as well as the thoughts I'm sharing throughout the quarter. Let's GO!

🛑 If you're not going to do it right, don't do it at all. 🛑
Yesterday I had a call with a prospective client who had sent us an RFP. This is a double digit million revenue company.
The topic of our conversation was two-fold:
1) They aren't seeing SEM, SEO, or Content Marketing results from their existing partner, that they pay $4K per month for these three services + web dev.
2) They stipulated in their RFP: "It is favorable if agency fees do not exceed $3,000/month."
I let my opinions be known about how I've yet to find an agency model (even with AI and offshore) that could deliver real results on all of these services with $3-4K per month. If you've figured this out - I'd love to hear about it, or debate you on it.
I told them I thought they are setting themselves up for 'more of the same' and starting down the path to failure.
That, as marketers, it is imperative that we educate all stakeholders in the business, especially leaders and decision makers on the real costs of doing things right and if budgets can't change - then, we need to pick one highly strategic action to take and not try to do a bunch of things half-way.
If we don't address this when we start, we'll find ourselves in the 'hot seat' a year down the road when stakeholders come asking why things aren't working. At that point it is too late to educate them on the real costs of doing things.
If you aren't going to do things right, I say, don't do them at all. Take your $36K budget and do the most strategic action you can do REALLY WELL!
Ok, getting off my soap box now.
