Never underestimate the power of sports to make a difference in the lives of people and the world around us. Well done!

Having spent time with people who do not appreciate what I bring to the table I found this article a refreshing reminder that we all owe a duty to ourselves to remember we are each amazing in our own right. Everyone has a bad day. And, of course, you should be grateful for others and learn to accept their compliments, but it’s equally (and possibly more) important to take stock of and appreciate what we each actually do well every day. When in the last time you acknowledged and celebrated YOU?! Maybe you handled a stressful situation with grace, took the high road, told a friend she looked great, or showed compassion to a stranger??? Take stock of those moments. Savor them. While it feels wonderful when other people compliment us, we should all remember to be our own biggest fan. “Other people are never paying as much attention to you as you are, so there’s a lot about you to appreciate that goes unremarked upon if you wait for someone else to acknowledge it.”

This article is a few years old but captures how I feel right now which is that "real life happens at work: success, joy, failure, trauma. We need real friends—right there, at our side—through it all." I'm so fortunate to have had so many wonderful friends throughout my career. Many of whom have reached out recently to share their thoughts, words of encouragement, and congratulations. 25 years anywhere is an achievement, but 25 years at one organization is also a rarity. Leaving is bittersweet (and those that know...know) but I'm looking forward to figuring out what's next and am appreciative that I have so many "work" friends with me on the journey. After 25 years, it is with mixed emotions to post that today is my last day with Aramark. I cannot begin to put into words what I feel or how much this company and the experiences I’ve had here have meant to me. So many people played a huge role in my journey. I cannot begin to list them here, but you know who you are and I am truly grateful.   I am also tremendously proud of how much progress our team has made toward our mission to do great things for our people, partners, communities, and planet. I sincerely hope the journey continues and remain in awe of how generous Aramark employees are when given the chance to get involved, do good, and give back.     Looking forward, my future is wide open. It's been quite a journey and while I'm not sure what's around the next bend, I am reminded of one of my favorites lyrics by the incomparable duo of Hunter and Garcia..."Once in a while, you get shown the light, in the strangest of places if you look at it right". I'm choosing to look at this right and hope you'll join me in celebrating whatever comes next.
