Global Chief Operating Officer of Engineering at Goldman Sachs and Country Head of Goldman Sachs Services India
India’s significant economic opportunity is underpinned by a growing adoption of technology, and the depth of STEM talent that is building cutting edge solutions for India and the world. Integral to this opportunity is our ability to take everyone along on this journey, ensuring an equitable, inclusive growth story for the country. At Goldman Sachs, we developed the TechLabs program to bridge the digital divide that impacts children from lower socio-economic backgrounds. In partnership with Rotary, we provide foundational computer education to government schools across Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Mumbai, aiming to reach over 50,000 students over the coming years. Since inception in 2019, we have reached over 15,000 students, many of who were first time computer users. Earlier this week, we had the privilege of hosting a group of 70 government school students from our current program in our Bengaluru office, also as part of the Goldman Sachs Community Teamworks project. They spent the day with us interacting with our leaders and volunteers, and it was incredible to attend the presentations they made - I come away energized and excited about the up and coming talent of this country!
It has been an awesome experience for last 2 years to be on panel for judging the presentations created by this untapped talent pool. I was simply amazed at the thought process on #gogreen which these kids had in their presentations. It was great to see confidence in the way they answered questions. Great to see #goldmansachs making investment in kids and enhancing tech pool of India. Proud to be associated with this initiative and build community.
School children from class 9 & 10 in teams of 4, made their presentations under three topics, AI, Go Green and Future of Literacy. The presentations were incredible both in content and style. Very happy to note that the GenNext from Govt Schools also is very promising and will herald good tides for our Nation. We from Rotary Bangalore West thank Gunjan Samtiani and entire GSTeam for the program.
What a fantastic initiative! It's truly inspiring to see that corporates are recognizing the remarkable impact they can have on society which they serve by joining hands with Rotary, leveraging its immense goodwill, financial resources and extensive network across India. Rotary's global success speaks volumes, especially through its highly effective flagship program: the Eradication of Polio. Congratulations and wish you and your institution all the very best 💐💐💐
CHENNAI is more richer than these places for GS to provide. The only reason corporate don't look at chennai is the policies and mindsets of the political leaders and hence students. No wonder why Chennai was not appearing.
This is quite a noble and inspiring intiative. GS Community Teamworks is level apart in CSR intiatives I have seen so far. Kudos.
Appreciate Gunjan Samtani and Goldman Sachs for your continued support n encouragement towards Lower socio economic students wish n dreams come true of touching the computers and happy learning 👏👏🙏💐
Great initiative indeed, particularly because its value addition is directed to those who certainly need it ! Investing in the next generation through such programs is one of the best forms of civic action !
Congratulations on such a meaningful initiative! It's truly inspiring to see the impact of the TechLabs program and the difference it's making.
A great initiative and sounds so encouraging and motivating, moving towards tech friendly India. Kudos to you and your team

4moI am amazed to see the people in india are still digitally divided where the underpriviledged families can afford phone even if they can not afford a great lifestyle. The efforts from #governmentofindia have been unparalleled to ensure the equity and access to information without discrimination giving access to the technology to the citizens for nation building. Corporates can really contribute to the grained problems like namo gange, green economy and reduce pollution for a sustainable future of there's in bangalore/ India by improving the socio-health condition than economy. The economy is byproduct & is in DNA of young #india
