#CNSInsights | In recent years, the field of neurotechnology has experienced a surge of innovation, with scientists around the world pursuing breakthroughs that allow us to interface with the human brain in both invasive and non-invasive ways. But as these pioneers continue to push the boundaries of what is possible, can public trust keep pace? In their new MedCity News article our CEO, Liron Nunez Weissman and Research Scientist, Sharena Rice, PhD discuss the necessity of ensuring that trust and privacy measures evolve alongside technological progress and highlight critical considerations that must be integrated into the development process. Are brain-computer interfaces (BCIs) poised for significant growth in 2024? CNS team members, Ruthi Aladjem and JoJo Platt think so. In their latest article for Technology Networks, Ruthi and JoJo examine how innovations in materials like graphene and the development of both wearable and implanted solutions, combined with evolving regulatory frameworks, are driving substantial breakthroughs. These exciting advancements make the conversation around ethical issues and considerations ever more pertinent. “This is our one chance to get it right and, dealing with the human brain and people’s neurological wellbeing, we must ensure we proceed in an ethically sound way.” Read more about the challenges and opportunities for this field here: https://lnkd.in/d9mtC4QT #BCIS #neurotechnology #neuroscience #innovation #investments #research

#CNSGrants | We are thrilled to announce that Corundum Neuroscience has awarded a research grant to Professor Yuval Nir at Tel Aviv University! Prof. Nir’s pioneering research will investigate the use of machine learning for the non-invasive detection of dementia associated-brain activity during sleep. "There is currently no objective tool available with the necessary sensitivity to non-invasively detect and quantify the brain activity signatures we are investigating," says Prof. Nir. "Our aim is to combine research on brain activity during sleep with machine learning, laying the groundwork for the measurement of abnormal brain states in dementia during sleep and, ultimately, to validate biomarkers for a wide range of neurological disorders." "We are at a unique time in neuroscience, in which our understanding of the brain from a cellular to a systems level is both contributing to and benefitting from the revolution in AI," notes CNS' Chief Scientist, Joshua Schulman, PhD. "This project represents that synthesis and is part of Corundum's long-term strategy to support research that serves as the basis for innovative approaches to brain health." 🔗 Learn more about the project here >> https://lnkd.in/dkkmGUPe Ramot - Tel Aviv University's Tech Transfer Company Sagol School of Neuroscience, Tel Aviv University #Neuroscience #ResearchGrant #Sleep #Dementia #ResearchFunding
