Better late than never sharing the obligatory Cannes recap! 🇫🇷 After a whirlwind week of attending meetings, sessions and awards shows, in sorting through the action and next steps notes I’m struck by a few things: ✨As a Cannes first timer, I was fascinated by the irrational balance of the direct, but equally relaxed nature of conversations. We didn’t lack for specificity in exciting follow-up actions, but also felt like we were getting to know partners and clients in a new way. Whatever I expected, the depth of conversations surpassed. ✨The threading of “creativity in commerce” felt more tangible - surfaced by the fact that creative agencies could be found in spaces mere steps from media performance agencies and partners. The two sides of the industry are not binary. One cannot stand on it’s own. And both must hold hands with ad tech and science enablers in delivering a new and better type of media experience for brands, to customers. ✨A rising tide lifts all boats. We’ve entered a new era of advertising in which the hallmark is likely to be: partnerships. Welcome to “the golden age of collaboration,” according to Kevin Dunn at LiveRamp during the “You Are What You Buy” session on the Kroger stage. And on that note, it was great catching up and getting to know so many in both scheduled and impromptu meetings, including Jessie Bove Dowd, Brenda Tuohig, Jeffrey Bustos, Jason Palmer, Martha Welsh, Carrie Sweeney, Paige Brewster, Bill Watkins, Samantha Jacobson, Amanda Martin, Alicia LeBeouf, Angela Myers, Harsh Jiandani, Samuel Knights, Jonathan Rosen, Russell Young, Shawn McGahee, Christina Brandeberry, Jason Kreiter, Gian LaVecchia, Charles F Manning, Taylor West, Paul Longo and many others! A big thank you to Susan MacDermid and Marti Funk for inviting KPM to join the panel with Kinective Media℠ by United Airlines’s Luc Bondar - jet-lagged and all, it felt like a timely conversation!
