🌏✨ London Climate Action Week. ✨ 🌏
Last week, Christine Ozden, our Global Director for Climate Education shared her expertise on a #LCAW24 panel titled 'Empowering Futures: Integrating Inclusion in Climate and Education Systems'.
She highlighted three key areas of focus for Cambridge in transforming education and amplifying climate action:
1️⃣ Enhancing Education Quality & Access: Cambridge are committed to delivering high-quality education across all subjects, including climate science. Our aim is to ensure a coherent, evidence-based curriculum that drives real progress and recognition.
2️⃣ Boosting Preparedness for Emergencies: With over 40 million children affected by climate disasters annually, our focus must be on building resilient education systems. From working with the government of Pakistan on distance learning standards to integrating emergency preparedness into education, we're creating adaptive, future-ready systems.
3️⃣ Developing Comprehensive Climate Education: Collaborating with governments worldwide, we integrate climate knowledge into curricula. Our new geography qualifications and the Cambridge Climate Quest in India are designed to provide students with the skills to drive sustainable futures.
Education can be a catalyst for change. And the expert panel including Daljeet Kaur, Ellen Bomasang, Jessica Cook, Howa Avan-Nomayo, Nicole Ngeow, Michelle Sandall, and Heather Saunders discussed international, national, and local initiatives which can, and are foster climate resilience and transform education systems.
