Investing in sustainable solutions for the future ♻️ Did you know that we’ve been exploring the potential for hydrogen as a viable energy source in production? In our Leipzig plant, we use hydrogen to power our forklifts, industrial trucks and automated guided vehicles. The plant has played a pioneering role in our use of hydrogen since 2013 💡 Find out more about our decarbonisation strategy: https://b.mw/XVBO #BMWGroup #sustainability #hydrogen #LCAW2024
Hydrogen has the potential to be considered a sustainable energy source for manufacturing, but implementing It as sustainable mobility first requires finding Its market demand and social acceptability based on available infrastructures, if not the dedicated budget for research and development will be wasted. Will BMW's FCEVs meet safety and adaptability requirements for various temperature conditions? Faster refueling of FCEVs won't necessarily be considered a remarkable competitive advantage compared to BEVs.
This is gonna be an epic failure in the future for sure.
This is great to see 👍🏼 We rely on large businesses like BMW Group to lay the stepping stones to a sustainable, greener future 💚
Another dumb decision….
Are there so many subsidies that this still is considered a "sustainable strategy"? To run forklifts with hydrogene where there are forklifts with batteries for decades? Really, does anynone who can use a calculator still believe this?
The future will either be green or not at all.💚 I wish sustainable growth to BMW GROUP.
It's impressive to see BMW Group leading the way in sustainable energy solutions! The use of hydrogen in production, showcases a strong commitment to innovation and environmental responsibility. I'm excited to see how these initiatives will further evolve and contribute to a greener future. Keep up the great work! 👏💪

2wHydrogen is in fact "indirect electricity" . As someone who's working for a major hydrogen manufacturing recently told me "Don't use hydrogen when you can electrify". Hydrogen certainly has applications where it makes sense, and I understand the paint line application, but not the use of hydrogen for the internal transport?
