  • In unhealthy relationships, silence shields a fragile tie. You bite your tongue to keep the peace until minor issues escalate into major conflict.

In healthy relationships, candor builds a stronger bond. You say your piece to show care and grow your capacity to resolve conflict.

Making this actionable advice in the work environment means you have to put personal boundaries over your employment and business relationships. And that just isn’t how our work culture is set up in late stage capitalism. Candor at work can get you fired and sidelined. Tread cautiously on this “advice”. Personal peace and job security are mutually exclusive in many organizations.

The whole point of supporting diversity is that it brings different perspectives. In an environment where differences are kept to oneself, for the sake of the illusion of peace, diversity provides no benefits. It just tortures people until they leave.
