Your Mission As the AI Team Lead, you will build and inspire a team of AI professionals to transform the field of wound care. Your mission is to harness data and apply advanced technologies such as machine learning, computer vision, generative AI, predictive analytics, and data visualization. Your work will pioneer new AI applications in personalized wound therapy, clinical best practices, product development, and breakthroughs in wound healing. Additionally, you will have the unique opportunity to build your team from scratch, shaping the future of AI in wound care.


Key Responsibilities

  • Innovative AI Development: Design and deliver AI solutions that accurately measure wound surface, classify tissue types, document wound status, and predict healing trajectories.
  • Efficiency Improvements: Enhance wound assessment efficiency by over 40%, ensuring assessments take less than 3 minutes.
  • Cost Optimization: Scale technology costs of wound assessments to under $1.00 per wound.
  • Standardization of Care: Develop AI tools to standardize wound prevention and treatment, offering continuous risk stratification and clinical decision support.
  • Comprehensive Support: Ensure AI tools support over 95% of wound types and provide role-based guidance for all healthcare professionals involved.
  • Quality Documentation: Generate documentation meeting CMS medical necessity standards 98% of the time.
  • Predictive Analytics: Develop Program Economics AI to predict utilization, create contract terms, and model contract performance with over 90% accuracy.
  • Patient Monitoring: Implement AI solutions that turn data from remote devices and patient reports into actionable alerts and interventions.
  • Best Practices Implementation: Establish frameworks for data governance, model explainability, and ethical AI, ensuring patient privacy and safety.


What You Bring

  • Educational Background: Ideally a PhD in Epidemiology, Biomedical Engineering, Wound Healing and Tissue Repair, Dermatology, Regenerative Medicine, Biotechnology, Clinical Research, Molecular Biology, or a related field that involves the scientific study of the human body.
  • Expertise in AI Software Engineering: Mastery of algorithms, methodologies, and tools across various AI fields, including machine learning, computer vision, NLP, and generative AI.
  • Proven Leadership: Experience in delivering large-scale, complex software systems and building high-performance teams with a focus on servant leadership.
  • 0-1 System Building: Hands-on experience in building systems from the ground up.
  • DSL Coding: Proficiency in domain-specific languages (DSL) related to the field.
  • Collaborative Mindset: Passion for fostering a collaborative environment centered on ideas, respect, and openness.
  • Value-Driven Approach: Strong focus on delivering patient and customer value efficiently.
  • Adaptive Problem Solving: Ability to tackle critical problems while adapting to organizational constraints.
