Apologies for blue balling my Austin network yesterday with a Dallas based VP of Product (see my last post for more info), but to make it up to you, I've just landed another exclusive Head of Product search for an Austin based start up. More on that below, but first, here's a conversation I had with my Nan yesterday. "Happy birthday, Dan. Hang on, let me put my teeth in" "You called me, Nan. Didn't want to do that before you called?" "You're right, can't be bothered to get up anyway. How old are you now?" "36" "I'm 90 next month" "I know you are. Are you having a party?" "No point Dan, all my mates are dead." *she laughs maniacally* "Anyway Dan, lovely to see you. Hope you come back to England soon, I won't be around for much longer. Get rid of that stupid beard and put a shirt on." "Cheers Nan." Now I've shamelessly used my dear old nan to get 10 likes or so, here's a bit about the job: My client are an Austin startup in the sense that they haven't launched yet, but they're founded by the founder of one of the largest banks in the Cayman Islands who have already been signed as a client. Given that the Cayman Islands is the World's premier tax neutral financial center due to their stringent compliance and regulatory standards, it makes sense that the founder of the leading bank here has created an AML/KYC SaaS solution, to roll out throughout the US who will now be able to leverage decades of expertise in this arena. They're very well backed and will be profitable quickly. The product is developed and ready to launch, and we're looking for a Head of Product from a Fintech/ Compliance/ Regulatory background, who has GTM experience within startup experience. Comp wise- we're at around the $200k ish (+/- 10% DOE), hybrid working downtown Austin. Again, if you want fully remote, touch grass and connect with your fellow humans a couple of times a week. It'll be good for you. Like and share, or don't. I can't tell you how to live your life. That's why you're in Texas afterall.
