Senior Director, Government Affairs and Strategic Planning

The Senior Director, Government Affairs and Strategic Planning is an experienced professional capable of developing and managing effective programs that coincides with the Authority’s mission. This role serves as the key liaison with government officials and industry leaders locally, federally, regionally, and globally. The work requires direct, in-depth knowledge of the function, structure, and personnel of the District of Columbia Government and a proven ability to work with elected and appointed officials and business and industry leaders. The incumbent must keep abreast of local, national, and global activities of relevance to the Authority, monitor proposed legislation and regulations for possible impact and effect on the Authority. Advise and coordinate the formation of Authority’s policy positions and develop an effective, on-going program to communicate the Authority’s goals and objectives. The incumbent must possess strong oral and written communication skills. The incumbent must develop and lead strategic planning initiatives that coincide with the Authority’s mission and goals that result in an economic brand impact. The incumbent reports directly to the Chief of Staff with a dotted line to the General Counsel.
