Safety Director

R.C. MOORE, INC., a Truckload Transportation/ 3PL Company, is currently seeking candidates for a Director of Safety and Compliance, to be based at our Pittston , PA location.

This position will assist in developing, implementing, and ensuring compliance with RCM’s enterprise safety programs. You will collaboratively develop and own all activities to manage and improve fleet, warehouse and brokerage safety and regulatory compliance. You will lead a team of safety professionals who provide both front-line, consultation and support. The Director must understand the needs of employees, customers, and the community, and will treat all parties with dignity and respect in difficult situations and maintain a positive, service-focused mindset.

Qualified candidate will have:

• a minimum of 10 years of of experience in leading Transportation / Fleet Safety, at a company whose operations include Trucking & Warehousing Operations.
• a minimum of 10 years of experience in leading, building, developing, and managing collaborative teams, and demonstrated results in establishing strategic goals and metrics for measuring success.
• Safety-Transportation management background, and strong compliance, recruiting and log experience.
• Excellent communication, motivational, and negotiation skills are a must.
• Strong Computer application skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Microsoft Outlook.
• Expert knowledge of federal, state, and local fleet and safety regulatory requirements (DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, EPA, etc.).
• Knowledge and experience with transportation systems and technology including but not limited to: ELDs, HOS, Transportation Management Systems (TMS) & Cameras

Other responsibilities to include accident investigation, satellite training, program development, worker’s compensation and insurance/risk management.

Samsara satellite and Turvo software experience a plus!

This position requires some travel (10-15%) at varying frequencies to our terminals and for other business needs.
