Property Accounting Manager, Dallas, TX (110k-120k)

LHH is working with a retail real estate company in the Dallas area that has done fantastic throughout the course of the pandemic. They have been able to acquire and redevelop multiple real estate properties, which in turn has led them to hire multiple new Accountants. In this role the selected candidate will be responsible for a portfolio of properties and review the work of his/her staff as it relates to full-cycle/month-end close duties. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of real estate and Yardi software experience. Our client is open to speaking with Senior Accountants that are ready to become an Accounting Manager as well. CPA is a plus, but experience is more important.

Job Responsibilities:

• Coordinate or review monthly financial statement close, to include but not limited to, journal entries, account reconciliations, bank reconciliations, monthly financial statements and partner reporting packages as needed.
• Assist Financial Planning and Analysis as needed in the analytical review and presentation for annual budgets and quarterly reforecasts.
• Coordinate or assist with accounts receivable analysis and research, review entry of leases/lease amendments to determine financial impact is consistent with intent; including impact on recoveries, sales tax filings, external auditors as required by lender or management agreements.
• Coordinate loan compliance reporting to include preparation/compilation of financials and debt covenant calculations.
• Demonstrate effective coaching and counseling of property accounting team members.
• Coordinate or participate in software implementations and/or enhancements.
• Provide transactional accounting support, to include onboarding any newly acquired assets.

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required
• 5+ years of real estate accounting experience
• Experience in fast paced, high volume dynamic environment
• Strong proficiencies with Microsoft Office applications including intermediate to advanced level experience in Excel
