Property Accounting Manager

Our client, an established and growing real estate property management company based in San Francisco, is seeking a Property Accounting Manager to join their team. This organization is looking for a strong leader that can take their accounting team to the next level as the company grows. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for leading, training and the development of the Accounting team, and should be strong in process development, system creation and implementation as well as enjoy serving as a mentor.

This role will also work very closely with the VP, Controller and Principals of the organization, and be responsible for ensuring financial stability and providing upper management with key financial information that ultimately impacts business decisions. This role requires on-site work in San Francisco, with the ability for hybrid work once established with the team and firm.

About the Role and Your Impact:

• Build, develop, supervise, and lead the real estate accounting team in support of departmental goals
• Manage corporate and property accounting function and reporting to the Executive team
• Develop and track budgets, prepare and implement annual property budgets in collaboration with Portfolio Managers
• Develop systems and processes to improve interdepartmental communication and workflows
• Manage relationships with vendors, external payroll administrator, and external CPA firm

What You’ll Bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent.
• 3+ years work experience at a Management level or a desire to grow from a Supervisor into a Manager within real estate, construction, hospitality, financial services preferred.
• Proven experience supervising a dynamic accounting team is necessary
• Experience working with third party CPA firms
