Project Manager - IT PMO

Overview

The Project Manager will provide direct project management support to assigned projects within the organization. The Project Manager initiates, plans, develops, executes, and manages project timelines, conducts problem assessments, ensures efficient project implementation, and reports on project performance in conjunction with project sponsors.

Expertise in the use of project management tools, facilitation, group processes and critical thinking is essential. The Project Manager works to ensure maximum effectiveness of resources, quality, change, integration, cost, and scope management using effective communications techniques.

A member of the IT Project Management Office (PMO), the Project Manager works across the organization through workgroups and cross-functional teams.

The Project Manager identifies opportunities for efficiency, effectiveness and process innovation while analyzing relevant project data and implementing process improvements.

We're on the lookout for an IT Project Management expert to become part of our IT PMO team, with a proven track record of steering projects to success. Our Project Managers enjoy the flexibility of working remotely 100%! We require at least 8 years of IT Project Management experience, and experience in a healthcare setting is a significant advantage. Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Provides support and consultation to executives, directors, managers, supervisors, and peers for strategic initiatives as assigned.
  • Assists leadership with strategy and project initiation, planning and execution.
  • Mentors’ leaders and teams on process improvement strategies and project management methodologies.

  • Demonstrated competencies in project management to include project chartering, project planning with detailed work breakdown structure and Gantt, planning for quality assurance, risk identification and mitigation, resource management, budget tracking, and change control.
  • Understand the big picture and to translate to specific actions, tasks, and measures for desired outcomes.
  • Develop data tracking tools, collate, and analyze data, interpret, and graph results.
  • Confidence in working with senior leaders and managers in a consulting role through strategy development and deployment planning.
  • Knowledge of Lean tools and critical thinking is essential.
  • Flexibility and creative problem-solving.
  • Willingness to listen and understand the needs of others.
  • Commitment to service excellence.
  • Proficient with Outlook, MS Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Visio, and SharePoint.
  • Experience with use of other Project Management software a plus.
  • Performs other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required or assigned.

Qualifications

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare, Technology, Business, Education, Project Management, or related field, or an equivalent level of professional experience required.
    • Master’s degree preferred.
  • PMP Certification Required (or obtained within 18 months after hire).
Professional Experience

  • Eight (8) years of Information Technology – Project experience
    • Proven track record of successfully leading teams and implementing change initiatives required.
    • Experience with project management tools/techniques and methodologies is required.
    • Experience managing teams from cross-functional departments and disciplines required.
    • Experience leading complex and concurrent projects with various size teams preferred.
  • Five (5+) years or more years’ experience in healthcare setting, a plus
