Delmy Donahue recently celebrated 20 years of service with Jefferson County. We’d like to thank her for her excellence and dedication to supporting our community. Delmy currently serves as a Deputy Sheriff with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office Colorado, and we are grateful to have her. When asked about what makes the team culture here at Jeffco so unique she said, “We truly are a family. My husband and I were recently involved in a terrible car accident and the amount of love and support my family received from everyone in the agency is something I truly will never forget. I had people I hadn’t seen in years reaching out and lending their support in many ways. I could not ask to work for a better group of people.” Delmy, we are happy you are safe and are truly thankful for the difference you make in our community every day! We are taking a moment to celebrate Leslie Homes, one of our Pretrial Services Program Administrators. She recently celebrated over 25 years of service with Jefferson County! Leslie, what a massive accomplishment. We are so grateful to have you as part of #TeamJeffco. We had an opportunity to ask Leslie how her role at Jefferson County has evolved over time, and this was her response. “When I first started my career 30+ years ago, my goal was to make a difference in the lives of criminal justice-evolved people. However, as I’ve grown and advanced in my career, I feel that I’ve been granted opportunities that have made a difference in the lives of staff, co-workers, as well as in the functions and improvements in the criminal justice system in Jeffco.”

Congratulations to our newest Talent Acquisition Manager, Katie Einbu. Katie was promoted to this position after two years of service with Jefferson County's HR recruitment team. In 2023, she helped facilitate more than 700 recruitments at Jeffco. Katie’s expertise will be an incredible addition to our already impressive HR leadership team that supports more than 3,000 employees here at the county. When asked about what impact she’s looking forward to making in her new role, here’s what Katie had to say, “During my time at Jeffco I've had the pleasure of working closely with hiring managers in every department and at every level, which has been an education in not only the services the county provides, but created opportunities to get to know individuals on each team who work at the county who are very dedicated to making an impact on their community. Jeffco Launches Program to Electrify County Vehicles 🔌🚗 On Monday, Jan. 29, Jefferson County held a ribbon cutting at Jefferson County Public Health (JCPH) to commemorate the launch of a new electric vehicle (EV) pilot program. Jeffco Commissioners Lesley Dahlkemper and Andy Kerr joined Christine Billings and Dr. Sarah Story from JCPH, along with other county staff to kickoff the program, which is a collaboration between Jefferson County's Sustainability Program (Facilities Management), Fleet Division, Innovation Program (BIT), and JCPH, to bring the first all-electric, zero-emissions vehicles to the county’s fleet. A priority solution in the county’s Climate Action Plan, switching from gasoline-powered vehicles to electric vehicles offers powerful climate change mitigation benefits, while also eliminating tailpipe emissions of pollutants that are harmful to human health and the environment. In the first year of operation, Jefferson County anticipates this project will result in 7.5 metric tons of CO2 emissions avoidance and about $2,750 in fuel cost savings. The electricity used to fuel these vehicles—the standard power supply delivered by Xcel Energy—is currently 42% carbon-free, and on track to increase to 80% carbon-free by 2030. The EV charging stations installed for this project are made possible by grant funds awarded to the county by the Colorado Energy Office’s Charge Ahead Colorado grant program. The EVs selected for this project are six 2023 Hyundai Ioniqs, among the newest EVs on the market and offering a great balance of pricing, dependability, charging speed, and usable driving range.
