IT System Administration Intern

Description

  • Documentation:
  • Assist in creating and updating technical documentation for IT processes, procedures, and systems.
  • Organize and maintain documentation repositories for easy access by team members.
  • Security Awareness Training:
  • Collaborate with the IT team to develop and deliver security awareness training materials to educate employees on cybersecurity best practices.
  • Assist in planning and conducting security awareness campaigns, including phishing simulations and training sessions.
  • Packaging and Deployment:
  • Support the packaging and deployment of software applications, updates, and patches across the organization.
  • Assist in testing and troubleshooting deployment scripts and packages.
  • Learn Azure Entra:
  • Gain exposure to Azure Entra, our internal IT management platform, and assist in performing various roles such as user provisioning, access control, and resource management.
  • Collaborate with team members to streamline processes and optimize workflows within Azure Entra.
  • PowerShell Scripting for Automation:
  • Learn and apply PowerShell scripting for automating repetitive tasks and streamlining IT operations.
  • Assist in developing PowerShell scripts for tasks such as user account management, system monitoring, and log analysis.

Overall Will Learn About IT Service Management (ITSM)

  • Participate in structured learning sessions to understand the fundamentals of IT Service Management (ITSM) frameworks such as ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library).
  • Assist in analyzing ITSM-related documentation, including policies, procedures, and workflows, to gain insights into best practices and industry standards.
  • Engage in discussions and workshops to explore the role of ITSM in optimizing IT service delivery, improving efficiency, and enhancing customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with team members to identify opportunities for applying ITSM concepts and methodologies to enhance IT operations and support services

Requirements

Educational Background

  • Current Enrollment: Enrolled in a degree program related to Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Academic Standing: Good academic record 3.0

Technical Skills

  • Operating Systems: Basic understanding of Windows, Linux, and possibly macOS operating systems.
  • Networking: Knowledge of basic networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN.
  • Scripting: Familiarity with scripting languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
  • Virtualization: Understanding of virtualization technologies like VMware, Hyper-V, or Docker.
  • Security: Basic knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
  • System Monitoring: Familiarity with system monitoring tools and techniques.
