General Description of Position:

The Radiology Manager is responsible for the comprehensive management and oversight of radiology services, including personnel management, facilities and equipment oversight, vendor relations, and adherence to service protocols and standards. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality imaging services to patients and supports the overall operational efficiency of the radiology department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Personnel Management:
    • Supervise and coordinate assigned imaging staff.
    • Conduct personal scanning on all clinic-owned MRI/X-ray devices.
    • Maintain personal certifications and skills.
    • Hire, train, and discipline imaging department staff, with an emphasis on technical competence.
    • Manage staff schedules, costs, and credentials.
  • Operational Coordination:
    • Maintain relationships with radiology groups providing reading services.
    • Coordinate technical communications among radiologists, OA doctors, clinic locations, and hospitals.
    • Oversee routine and emergency maintenance and repair activities for all equipment and service providers.
    • Ensure the condition and technical quality of all equipment.
    • Collaborate with the OrthoArkansas IT Department to meet patient care requirements related to imaging services.
    • Work with clinical staff to meet patient care needs related to imaging services.
  • Strategic and Financial Planning:
    • Participate in strategic, financial, and operational planning with department leaders.
    • Develop, monitor, and adapt policies, procedures, and standards to comply with regulatory agencies and meet customer requirements.
  • Quality Improvement and Compliance:
    • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and standards.
    • Implement and monitor quality improvement initiatives.
    • Address and solve problems effectively, making decisions and prioritizing tasks as needed.
  • Miscellaneous:
    • Perform any other tasks as requested by management to provide top-quality imaging services to OrthoArkansas patients, providers, and external customers.
Qualifications:

  • Education and Experience:
    • Bachelor’s degree in radiologic technology.
    • Certification as a radiologic technologist through ARRT or an equivalent certification board.
    • Minimum of 4 years of clinical experience in radiology or medical imaging.
    • At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory or managerial role within a healthcare setting.
    • Strong knowledge of medical imaging technologies, including X-ray, MRI, and CT.
    • Familiarity with PACS systems and radiology software.
    • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to solve problems, make decisions, and prioritize tasks effectively.
    • Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement and patient-centered care.
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
    • Required: State license, ARRT certification, BLS certification.
    • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or related field (master’s degree preferred).
  • Software Skills Required:
    • Basic: 10-Key, Accounting, Spreadsheet, Word Processing/Typing.
