Health Care Compliance Board Member

AbleLight Inc. is conducting a search for volunteer Board of Directors with significant health care compliance expertise who reside in our states of greatest operations: California, Colorado, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Oregon, or Washington.

AbleLight Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that supports people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in ten states. Through Christian love, AbleLight whole-heartedly supports and advocates for all people with Developmental Disabilities to ensure security, dignity, and hope.

The AbleLight Board provides fiduciary oversight of AbleLight. Directors are expected to actively engage in quarterly regular Board meetings (two are in-person and two are virtual), occasional special meetings, task forces and other Board support for AbleLight. Directors are unpaid volunteers. AbleLight pays for all travel and other expenses and provides administrative support. Directors are elected to a three-year term and are eligible for additional terms.

Ideal candidates will:

• Have extensive executive-level or commensurate professional experience and expertise leading compliance specifically related to health care organizations that are significantly federally funded through Medicaid.
• Have skills of critical thinking and collaborative problem-solving, and a natural affinity for cultivating relationships and building consensus among diverse individuals.
• Identify as being of the Christian faith, commensurate with the Christian faith-based foundation of AbleLight.
• Have a commitment to make the world better for the IDD community, and to represent AbleLight to the world.
• Reside in one of our states of greatest operations: California, Colorado, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Oregon, or Washington.
