Today we'll be introducing our Programs Team - Michelle, Ethel, and Denis 🐝 "The Urban Beekeeping Fellowship is a program I wish I had participated in during the summer months when I was home from college. This experience can help cultivate a deeper understanding of the environment surrounding us and encourage our youth to seek green jobs. Bee-U is the next step for those looking to find themselves and understand the importance of nature, all while exploring fun workshops/classes centralized around our favorite little pollinators, Bees!" - Denis "What I enjoy most about working at Bee-U is connecting with others on topics that need more attention. This year, the program has expanded environmental advocacy and awareness. Having a safe space to discuss these topics is something I look forward to every Sunday." -Ethel " I love working at Bee-U because it allows me to give back to the community. There's no better feeling than bringing people together to work towards a better tomorrow!" - Michelle

Today we'll be introducing our Development Associate - Devisha Bisaria 🐝 “I think Bee-U is a fantastic initiative to get students out of their comfort zone and give them the opportunity to support and engage with environmental activism efforts! Teaching the younger generations of the importance of not only bees but the values of leadership, teamwork and responsibility are the reasons I admire this organization and it’s efforts!”

Cohort One of our Urban Beekeeping Fellowship is off to a great start! 🐝 Our fellows have begun learning about bees, their hives, and why these pollinators are so crucial to the world! During week two of the program, we brought back a crowd favorite our cooking class! Thank you to our guest chef Taylor for facilitating this session for us again this Summer. The fellows made a fruit salad with a hot honey yogurt dressing, pasta salad with a honey vinaigrette and a German potato salad! #urbanbeekeeping #bees #youth #programs #statenisland #leadership #cooking #honey #youthdevelopment #nyccookingclass #nycthingstodo #nycfellowship

Today we'll be introducing our Hives Manager, Nick Rozak aka @greenstingerbeekeeping 🐝 "I hope that Bee-U will help spread awareness about honey bees and native bees on Staten Island, helping all people understand the impact they have on the environment and learn how we can all live more substantial lives"

Today we'll be introducing our Director of Development, Tavion Williams 🐝 "I was a beneficiary of a variety of exposures as a child and the impact has brought me here. Becoming an educator, I was able to contribute to such exposures, which gave me perspective. As a co founder and director, Bee-U is a direct opportunity to provide exposure, advocate for environmental stewardship, and show the rest of the world what our communities have to offer."
