The Employment Specialist will support Community Corrections by assisting clients in obtaining employment through various initiatives, including:
Class Development and Facilitation: Develop and facilitate life skills and job skills classes to prepare clients for the workforce.
Individual Career Coaching: Coordinate one-on-one career coaching sessions to provide personalized guidance and support.
Employer Relations: Build and maintain relationships with local employers to understand their hiring needs and match them with suitable candidates.
Resource Development: Develop and maintain resources to support clients' job search and career development.
Responsibilities
Specifically, this position:
Meets with men and women serving a community corrections sentence to help them work towards finding employment opportunities and resources.
Completes job readiness assessments and follows state-issued standards.
Coordinates, facilitates, or provides life skills, interviewing, and other self-improvement classes designed to enhance clients' employment opportunities.
Works with stakeholders in the community to develop partnerships that would give clients a greater opportunity to gain employment.
Works directly and collaboratively with other departments in the agency.

Develop, collaborate on, and implement employment programs and initiatives tailored to the needs of specific populations, such as veterans, people with disabilities, or long-term unemployed individuals.
Qualifications
Depending on qualifications, this position may be hired as an Employment Specialist or a Senior Employment Specialist .
All candidates will be screened for the following required minimum qualifications. Any candidate who does not meet all the qualifications listed as required for an Employment Specialist will be eliminated from the process.
Employment Specialist - $23.24
Two (2) years of experience in a related field or the performance of similar duties and responsibilities is required.
High School Diploma or GED, required.
Senior Employment Specialist - $25.57
High School Diploma or GED
Four (4) years of experience or equivalent combination of education and/or experience working with under-served populations in the context of job development and job search activities. Related education or experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
