Director, Project Management - Americas

The Director, Project Management - Americas will provide project management support to the teams responsible for project delivery, process improvement initiatives, and data center development in North, South and Central America. This position reports to the VP, Americas PMO & Service Delivery. The position will be based in the US, at an ECX office or remote, and requires international travel.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide Sr. Management oversight for data center development projects in North, South and Central America.
  • Project Leadership: Oversee all phases of data center construction, including design review, contractor and vendor management, scheduling, budgeting, safety compliance, and commissioning.
  • Work as a member of the PMO team to support regional team members with assigned tasks and interface with project stakeholders across departments.
  • Significant collaboration with EdgeConneX Engineering, Operations and Finance teams, as well as daily interaction with site contractors.
  • Position will be the primary company interface with the data center customer(s) throughout the construction, commissioning, and fit-out stages of site development.
  • Assist in developing high quality reports, graphs, and other materials to convey project progress, risks, and key metrics.
  • Develop and manage project schedules to ensure reliable and predictable turnover dates.
  • Mitigate risk through pre-planning, monitoring, and management of project risk registers.
  • Assist teams with planning, organizing, and executing strategic and program transformation initiatives.
  • Maintain well organized project files and database entries; collect and record key project data such as applications, dates, permits, C/O and utility information.
  • Budget Management: Create, manage, and accurately track project budgets. Drive cost-efficiency without compromising quality standards or performance.
  • Quality and Safety: Uphold rigorous quality control procedures and ensure strict adherence to safety regulations and best practices.
  • Problem-Solving: Address project challenges decisively, developing creative solutions when issues arise.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, generate regular progress reports, and communicate effectively with senior management.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Problem solving and analytical skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast paced, globally diverse, startup environment.
  • Proficient with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6), budgeting tools, and construction management best practices.
  • Problem Solving & Leadership: Exceptional problem-solving abilities, strong decision-making skills, and the capacity to lead and manage diverse teams.
  • Communication: Outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities and projects.
  • Track record of meeting committed timelines, leveraging assistance/input from peers.
  • Ability to interface confidently with customers, vendors, and ECX colleagues.

Experience/Education

  • 8+ years of project management, management consulting, data center development, industrial construction, or data center industry experience with a distinct focus on Program Management and customer-facing processes and procedures.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture or Construction Management, related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Candidates who hold an MBA or Master of Science in Engineering or Construction Management are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Possess or completion of a project- or construction management-related certification such as AC, ACP CPC, CST, FE, PE, or PMP is required within 24 months following job start.
  • OSHA 30 safety certification required within 3 months following job start.
  • Prior data center construction experience highly desired.
  • Prior experience in commissioning AI data centers highly desired.

Travel

  • Up to 50% with the flexibility to travel on short notice.
  • Some travel will be international.

US Salary Range

$160,000—$180,000 USD
