"This study abroad journey has broadened my perspective on international business. I've gained invaluable knowledge that will benefit me in my academic endeavors and future career...I am immensely grateful to WorldStrides for making this experience one to remember." - Karen Lopez, Accounting and Information Systems at University of Texas at Arlington

We spent the last half of our study abroad trip in the beautiful city of Bilbao where we had the opportunity to visit museums, universities, and businesses. The Guggenheim Museum, with its collection of modern paintings and sculptures, was entertaining and awe-inspiring.  We were also able to tour Guernica, where we gained a powerful perspective of the devastation of war and how it people remember their history and what inspired Picasso's painting "Guernica." Our visits to Mondragon Unibertsitatea and University of Deusto offered fascinating insights into the contrasting academics abroad. We were particularly struck by Mondragon's unique approach, fostering close collaboration with cooperatives and offering a less conventional path to education that supports entrepreneurship. Urbegi Social Impact further enriched our experience. We learned how their non-profit organization supports Bizkaia state and empowers vulnerable entrepreneurs. This study abroad journey has broadened my perspective on international business. I've gained invaluable knowledge that will benefit me in my academic endeavors and future career. I am immensely grateful to The University of Texas at Arlington - College of Business, Philisa Stanford, M.Ed., Jhonniece Meeks, M.A., and the team at WorldStrides for making this experience one to remember. #RISEinSpain2024 #BusinessMavericks #BizMavAbroad #UTAStudyAbroad.

Today we recognize and celebrate Juneteenth! "Two and a half years. That’s the span of time that passed between President Abraham Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation in January 1863 and when word of their freedom finally reached enslaved Africans living in that westernmost Confederate state. Juneteenth symbolizes the many ways in which freedom for Black people has been delayed. It is of major significance in American history and demonstrates the ongoing fight for racial equality for Black Americans." - Turning Voices So, how can allies celebrate? Support Black businesses. Share Black stories. Learn about prominent Black figures in American history. No matter what you choose to do, know this day as one of liberation and resilience. If you're in D.C., Maryland or Virginia today, here's a guide to celebrations in your area! https://bit.ly/4b36Egv

As a Summer 2024 WorldStrides intern, I have had the opportunity to learn about Choose Earth; WorldStrides’ way of building environmental and social responsibility. During this experience, I had the opportunity to volunteer at Cultivate Charlottesville, where fellow interns and I supported the means of the community garden that provides fresh produce for members of the community. Through this experience, I was able to grasp a better understanding of the values of WorldStrides and what it means to be an employee at the organization. The experience was also insightful on the impact that community engagement has on the people living in it. As I intern in Charlottesville this summer, I hope to learn more about its efforts in environmental sustainability and engaging its local communities, as well as the efforts from WorldStrides through Choose Earth. #intern #corporatesocialresponsibility #environmentalresponsibility

In honor of #NationalHigherEducationDay, here's an article written by Ping Melchior, an International Business Major, who traveled to Seoul, Greece, and Bangkok with us in 2022-2023. The article highlights her experience traveling with International Studies Abroad (ISA) and The Education Abroad Network (TEAN) and goes over her thoughts on what is essential to know about the locations she traveled to. "I want to thank WorldStrides for giving me this opportunity to go abroad. Each location was amazing and the friends I made along the way made it so much better." Student traveler Kai Hoy made a short film called Fun Places To Spend Time in France that highlights the best parts of their high school class trip to France. 🎥 🇫🇷 "Although France has many tourism areas, it's important to emphasize the subtle joys of all areas. We as a group went to many places and I chose to compose the best locations that anyone can enjoy. The purpose of this film montage is to help visitors enjoy planning their time and locations ahead rather than searching for popular places in France on Google." - Kai H. 🎥 @hookstudiosbkh, 4th round 2024 WorldStrides Photo & Video Contest winner 📍 France
