Mavent Analytics has been engaged by our client to find their highest-level EPMO and Business Architecture leader. Although this role has a Director title, it is comparable to a Senior Director or VP-level role in many organizations. This "business athlete" will work closely with leaders to drive business transformation across the organization. We are targeting someone that has worked in a manufacturing environment or related field (durable goods). We are not looking for someone that has worked exclusively on the IT side for banking or services-based firms.

Our client is headquartered in the Des Moines, IA area. We are targeting resources that are local to IA or willing to relocate to IA (full relocation package is available)

Mission: What do we need this person to do?

  • As the highest level EPMO leader, evangelize and consult with leaders across the organization to create awareness for the EPMO Program and drive adoption
  • Define, prioritize and support enterprise initiatives with the enterprise portfolio suite; align with business leaders and Enterprise Transformation Office peers (Business Architecture, M&A, S&OP, & Change Management)
  • Contribute to the organization's proprietary delivery system by influencing usage of SAFe / Agile in digital transformation initiatives
  • Act as liaison between business leaders and the Enterprise Architecture team (with a slight lean towards the business side); improve collaboration and project execution
  • Mature current EPMO by driving research, innovation, and best practices
  • Establish the Business Architecture team and build capability over time (currently in infancy stage)

What's in it for you?

  • Privately held organization with strong support and investment into the business, without the red tape of many corporate environments
  • Enterprise Transformation Team is one year old and has relative white space to operate
  • Opportunity to work for a company with a strong culture and values system, walk the talk and fully invested in their people
  • Organization doubled revenue in last five years; aggressive organic and M&A activity will continue
  • Report to a well-respected, genuine leader that has influence and longevity in the organization; relationship and development focused
  • Strong opportunity for personal and professional growth

Required

  • B.S Degree in business-related field plus 8-10+ years of business and EPMO leadership experience

  • EPMO leadership and maturation experience including; people, process, technology, and governance for physical and digital projects
  • Scaling EPMO teams; coaching and training program and project managers in project management best practices - must have experience managing PMP's and understand PMBOK methodology
  • Expertise in strategic support, portfolio and program management - training and coaching, processes, methods, and tools
  • Proven ability to drive digital transformation across the entire organization

  • Proficiency with Lean / Waterfall and SAFe / Agile approaches; adaptable skill set and willingness to embrace multiple approaches for physical and digital products
  • Change management strategy and implementation experience
