One of our portfolio is looking for a CFO to be a key member of the Executive Leadership Team and will be responsible for leading all financial activities and strategies for the company. This role involves overseeing financial planning and analysis, accounting, payroll, audit and control, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. In addition to these core responsibilities, the CFO will also serve as direct manager to the Financial Planning & Analysis Manager, Accounting Manager, and Director of HR & Culture. The CFO will work in partnership with executive leadership to build a first-class data driven finance organization that improves company-wide decision making and fuels continued growth.


Primary Responsibilities


Financial Strategy and Investor Relations:

• Develop and execute the company's financial strategy in alignment with its growth and

profitability objectives and the expectations of the company’s Board and institutional investors.

• Serve as a key point of contact for VC investors, providing regular updates and financial

information.

• Assist in fundraising activities and due diligence efforts.


Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) and Reporting:

• Direct Report - Financial Planning & Analysis Manager

• Lead the annual budgeting and planning process.

• Create financial models and forecasts to support decision-making.

• Support the creation and management of variable compensation plans, such as sales

commissions plans and the company bonus plan.

• Monitor financial performance and provide insights to improve profitability and cash flow.

• Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to the executive team

and the board of directors.

• Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted

Accounting Principles).


Accounting and Control:

• Direct Report - Accounting Manager

• Oversee the accounting function, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.

• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

• Manage and oversee annual financial audit or review as well as tax planning and compliance,

including federal, state, and local taxes.

• Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations.


Cash and Risk Management:

• Manage cash flow and liquidity to support daily operations and growth initiatives.

• Optimize working capital and recommend strategies to maximize cash efficiency.

• Identify and mitigate financial risks and ensure the company has appropriate insurance

coverage.

• Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.


Legal:

• Oversee the legal function, including customer, vendor and partner contracts, customer

security validations, product security and all other legal matters.


HR and Culture:

• Direct Report - Director, HR & Culture

• Oversee the People & Culture function, including vendor and partner contracts, benefits

renewals, compensation, rewards, and talent acquisition.


Team Leadership:

• Build and lead a high-performing finance team with a winning mindset and culture.

• Mentor and develop finance professionals within the organization.

• Collaborate with the Executive Team to stress test execution assumptions and drive

performance-based culture.


Skills and Experience Needed for Success

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. MBA or CPA is a plus.

• Proven experience as a financial leader in a SaaS software tech or startup environment.

• Strong knowledge of and experience in financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting.

• Excellent understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.

• Experience working with VC-backed or institutional investor backed companies is required.

• Exceptional leadership and team management skills.

• Strong communication and presentation abilities.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

• Experience with fundraising and mergers is highly desirable.

• The salary band for this position ranges is competitive and commensurate with experience and

performance.
