Did you know? The state of Pennsylvania purchases more refrigerated tea than any other state in America. Milo's Vice President of Sales Chris Rowley visited the tea-loving state recently to speak at the Pennsylvania Food Merchants Association Annual Conference on a panel about building successful brands. Chris shared how prioritizing our People First culture is the key to creating pathways to prosperity for our TEAm, our customers, and the communities we serve. Recently, seven high school students “signed on” to join TEAm Milo’s during Signing Day after successfully completing the High School Ready to Work program, which is designed by AIDT to provide industry-focused training and soft skill development. Milo’s supported the students’ Ready to Work journey throughout the school year, visiting classrooms to provide education on the variety of roles available in the industry, offering tours at our Bessemer facility, and participating in interview preparation and practice. Milo’s believes in hiring and growing authentic leaders, delivering the most delicious quality products on time and in full to our customers, and giving back to the communities we serve. We call this living PeopleFirst. As our business grows exponentially, we are hyper-focused on growing our people and investing in their futures. The seven students will join the Bessemer and Homewood facilities as production trainees, graduating first from Bessemer City High School, Minor High School and Center Point High School. Milo’s was also recognized as the Employer of the Year for its dedication and commitment to the High School Ready to Work program.

#PeopleFirst. Had the opportunity to spend the day in our #Homewood, #Alabama plant recently and talk with our associates. Walking the plant floor and listening to our People fuels me more than I can put into words. The fact that Milo's Tea Company, Inc. now has almost 800 great jobs where #PeopleComeToGrow, to be rewarded and to contribute to the Milo's HAT of working Hungry, Agile and Together is why am a #ProudCEO. How do you intentionally connect with people at your office, retail or manufacturing facility? I start with asking people how they are, but from there the questions get deeper, fast. I ask stuff like - How can we improve? What do we need to do better? What are we doing well? If you could change one thing, what would it be? It's amazing the genius you can unlock when you just listen. I am wired to never quit asking if there is a better way so it fuels me we that we've built a culture where people are willing to state the brutal facts to the CEO. That's one of the many ways we try to get a little better each day here at Milo's, and it's working. It was also great to see more women embracing careers in manufacturing!!! We're moving our Homewood plant to 24/7 operations and hiring 19 remarkable people to join the TEAm right now.
