Galin Education () is an education company that works with students as they prepare for and apply to college. We work with students one-on-one and in small groups for tutoring, academic coaching, test prep, enrichment coursework, and admissions counseling for college and graduate school. Galin Education also works with a variety of education organizations throughout the country, including schools, camps, and educational technology companies.

Assistant Director (EF) Responsibilities

The Assistant Director will serve as an academic coach, working one-on-one with middle school, high school, and college students to help them become successful in school and life. Our coaches provide students with the skills to be successful now and in the future. When working with students, coaches will teach methods to plan and manage their time, prioritize, become more organized, and process information through notetaking, studying, and reading. Our coaches must be able to create strong relationships with students, increase their confidence, and help them overcome challenges.

  • Academic Coaching and Tutoring (50%)
    • Support 12 - 15 students including a mix of middle school, high school, and college students as an executive function coach
    • Work 1-on-1 with students to develop academic skills
  • Program Management (40%)
    • Develop curriculum, resources, and training materials for our academic coaching program
    • Recruit and interview coach and tutor candidates
    • Observe and provide feedback to coaches and tutors
    • Communicate with parents about student progress and concerns that may arise
    • Create and host training for coaches and tutors
    • Develop and manage coach and tutor evaluation process
    • Track students and identify successes and challenges
  • Marketing (10%)
    • Marketing responsibilities
    • Special Projects
    • Attend conferences
    • Business Development and partnerships
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree preferred
  • Experience working with students in grades 6-12 and/or college, preferably students with ADHD, anxiety, or other learning struggles
  • Experience working in schools such as General Education Teachers, Special Education teachers, Psychologists, Social Workers, Counselors, Speech Language Pathologists, or Occupational Therapists is preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively in-person, via phone, and email with parents of students
  • Flexible for working in evenings and/or weekends
