Job Description
Provides leadership in the development of an innovative professional development system that aligns to DSCD’s Strategic Plan and addresses the diverse needs of the learners in DCSD’s schools. Provides leadership in working collaboratively with leaders in other departments across the district to develop a model for promoting the development of leaders across the system. Coordinate with the Director of the Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment (CIA) Department to lead the district’s work in Curriculum, Instructional, Assessment, and Professional Learning needs at a district, regional, feeder and individual school level aligned to the goals of the district in order to improve student performance.Works collaboratively with other departments to create and implement innovative differentiated training for all staff that supports the implementation of the DCSD’s Strategic Plan. Develops and promotes good communication and collaboration among various district stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Position Specific Information (if Applicable):
Co-facilitate/Co-create professional development offerings and work collaboratively with leaders in other departments to develop and align professional development offerings across the district.
Accept responsibility for specialized projects that support the implementation of the District’s Strategic Plan.
Develop a system for tracking impact regarding professional development offerings.
Evaluate and coach other members of the department.
Align differentiated professional development offerings to support staff across the district so they can successfully implement the strategic vision.
Model visionary leadership and systems thinking in planning meetings and trainings.
Work collaboratively with other leaders in departments and/or schools across the district to strengthen the teaming structure across departments.
Coach teachers and building leaders so they make connections as they are working on different aspects of the strategic vision.
Coach teachers and building leaders in the use of data to determine the impact of instruction in their classroom.
Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
Work collaboratively with department director to provide leadership to all team members related to curriculum, instruction and assessment work
Work collaboratively with department director to provide leadership and support for effective use of data to team members and schools including processes to use to improve instruction and student performance
Collaboratively develop and manage action plans that support district priorities and key department initiatives.
Collaborate with the departments and building leaders and leadership teams to help develop and/or differentiate professional development offerings that support the school’s professional development plans.

All salary amounts listed above are based on a full-time (1.0) FTE. If applicable, part-time salaries will be prorated according to the assigned FTE.
