    Convene and facilitate monthly professional learning community for the MANAGERS and DIRECTORS of out-of-school time (OST) programs in the West Philadelphia Promise Neighborhood. The meetings are driven by the desire to answer the following questions: "What would a coordinated OST System in Philadelphia look like?" "What would it take to create a cradle to college OST experience for a child in 19104?". The group has worked to create a shared directory of programs in the WPPN, they have assessed…

    Convene and facilitate monthly professional learning community for the MANAGERS and DIRECTORS of out-of-school time (OST) programs in the West Philadelphia Promise Neighborhood. The meetings are driven by the desire to answer the following questions: "What would a coordinated OST System in Philadelphia look like?" "What would it take to create a cradle to college OST experience for a child in 19104?". The group has worked to create a shared directory of programs in the WPPN, they have assessed professional development (PD) offerings and have created opportunities for sharing PD experiences across organizations, have identified the total number of possible WorkReady summer jobs for teens in the WPPN (nearly 400!) and have co-planned an information session for families of teens who want to apply to WorkReady.

BELL engaged The Learning Agenda to support efforts to enhance its BELL summer programming for middle-school youth. TLA is collaborating to fine-tune curriculum materials to be more user-friendly for practitioners, with the end result of better and deeper implementation; to elevate the role of the lead teacher to instructional coach; and to ensure BELL’s program development efforts are informed by an advisory group of leading experts on adolescent development and programming.

    Awarded Promising Practice Award from CitiGroup for an on-boarding tool I created to help new staff transition into their role at the after school program. It provided an overview of our program, our values, examples of forms they may be required to use depending on their role and sample templates for emerging staff like how to write a memo, how to request time off, and how to request professional development funds, etc.
