Our design partner on this Second Presbyterian project shared: “Working only with a Letter of Intent from the church, Charles C. Brandt Construction has been very helpful in working with our Architect-Owner team to identify areas of potential cost savings prior to signing an Owner-Contractor agreement. They were able to identify a larger list of potential cost savings items than were necessary, but this allowed the church to choose only the items they were comfortable with. Electrical Prefabrication with Argyle. We got these videos from the great team at Miller Electric Company. This use of AR is such a no brainer, but it flew right over my head until I saw it in action. TIP: Argyle assumes your model export is an upright building, so when you're exporting prefab models in the Revit plugin, make sure you orient the model appropriately. TIP: Use the prefab use case to resurrect your dusty Hololens 2. It ticks the boxes of its limitations: smaller model sizes, and indoor visibility. Then when you want to install the conduit and walk the full site--give your team a Magic Leap 2. #revitmep #fabshop #augmentedreality

Good article from FMI that Jennifer shared. We just got a personal brief from FMI for the Consigli leadership team that showed that the next 2-3 years will have the highest levels of construction spending in history. Meanwhile, the long, slow exodus of skilled construction workers into retirement continues to be the slow-motion train wreck that we in the industry must solve for. Prefab needs to continue to ramp up and help achieve schedule and cost certainty. As the article points out, early consideration of prefab is essential for multi-trade efforts. Why more sub-contractors don't do single trade prefab in their warehouses, especially for the MEP trades, continues to mystify me. Consigli Construction Co., Inc.

Every project can run into obstacles and unforeseen conditions, yet we could not agree more with Lindsey and encourage open communication throughout the entire construction process.
