Why Real Leadership Principles Are Rarely Disseminated In today's rapidly accelerating world, the principles of leadership and power remain elusive to the majority. But why? If widely understood and practiced, these principles would likely disrupt existing power structures. Understanding Unified leadership empowers individuals at every level, fostering a sense of autonomy, purpose, and collaboration. It's about holistic leadership and creating environments where innovation thrives and people feel valued and motivated to contribute their best. However, widespread dissemination of these principles could challenge traditional hierarchies. Those in power often maintain control through top-down management, playing by a different set of rules, and information asymmetry. By limiting access to the core tenets of genuine leadership, society has ensured that transformative change remains out of reach for the majority. Imagine a world where everyone understands and embodies Unified Leadership. Organizations would become more resilient and adaptive, communities more cohesive and supportive, and society more equitable and just. This potential for widespread empowerment and disruption is precisely why such knowledge remains confined to the few. As an advocate for Unified Leadership, I believe it's time to democratize these principles. Let's start a conversation about sharing and implementing Unified Leadership practices in our everyday lives, creating a ripple effect that could redefine a new and empowered future. #Leadership #Empowerment #Change #UnifiedLeadership #FutureOfWork

The Path to Diverse Leadership: Accelerate or Wait? The value of diverse perspectives in leadership teams is undeniable. But how do we achieve it? Should we prioritise accelerating diversity of representation and thought in senior roles, or focus on fostering talent throughout the pipeline, trusting it will naturally progress? By focussing on acceleration we are: - Challenging Systemic Bias: Proactive change addresses unconscious biases that may hinder diverse talent from rising organically. - Embracing other worldviews: Varied perspectives fuel better problem-solving, innovation, and risk assessment. - Commiting to change: Truly demonstrates a commitment to inclusion of representation and thought beyond just words. By fostering talent through the pipeline: - Sustainable Growth: Cultivating a broader talent pool ensures a future filled with qualified, diverse leaders. - Building a Strong Foundation: Early investment in development programs provides a solid base for diverse leaders to thrive. - Avoiding Tokenism: Prevents perceptions of appointments made purely for representational purposes. I recently paused my busy schedule to participate in the fourth annual Leaders Who Make a Difference virtual conference organized by Harvard Business Review. The insightful agenda delved into topics such as AI, career transformation, and gender equity, showcasing the importance of these issues in today's business landscape. The event featured prominent CEOs and management experts who discussed leveraging innovative business practices to drive positive social change through effective leadership. One key takeaway that resonated with me was the notion that the tech industry offers the beauty of envisioning the future and embracing the challenges that come with managing paradoxes in our evolving reality. #Leadership #Innovation #SocialChange #TechIndustry #HarvardBusinessReview #VirtualConference

So lucky to be on the Pathway to Scale program its enlightening; part of my journey of self-discovery and mutual support among peers. This week we attended a workshop to learn our leadership styles with Insights Discovery, we uncovered the essence of our leadership personas, and the vibrant peer discussions added a layer of warmth and camaraderie to this journey. It's heartening to see a network of women rallying together, offering support and understanding in our collective quest for growth. The realisation that I am perceived as a "passionate and inspiring motivator" with a strong presence of 'yellow and red' energies—synonymous with creativity and action—was both affirming and eye-opening. Yet, the session also highlighted a crucial area for my personal growth: the need to embrace more 'blue and grey' qualities, focusing on research, systems, and processes to scale effectively. Admittedly, while these are not my preferred tasks, the need for a balanced leadership approach is clear. It's about building a team that complements these areas, bringing diverse leadership styles together to create a cohesive and effective unit. Reflecting on this, I'm reminded of the natural wisdom in the way horses interact—some lead, some critique, some observe, and some take action. Each plays a vital role, akin to the diverse elements needed in leadership for movement and growth. This session was a reminder that to scale, we must build not just on our strengths but also embrace and integrate the qualities we're less inclined towards, much like the harmonious diversity in nature. Grateful for the insights and the incredible support from this network of inspiring women. Here's to growing together, learning from each other, and leading with a balanced stride. #LeadershipGrowth #DiversityInLeadership #InsightsDiscovery #WomenSupportingWomen #PathwayToScale

Attended the 'The Future of Leadership' session with Quantic School of Business and Technology's Subject Matter Expert Eleonora Carr, yesterday! My highlight of the session was the discussions around #Diversity 🤗 . The participants (including yours truly 😇 ) brought forth insightful points such as - The need for existing teams within organizations to be open, to new ideas, to new ways of doing things, and most importantly - to (new) people bringing their own unique perspectives. And how #Leadership and #Recruitment can and need to balance Existing Values and "The New." Diversity needs to be representative of the environment in which the organization exists i.e.; True #Inclusion (which is most effective) as opposed to forming a D&I policy that's based on some other organization's context. Diversity helps companies to become more innovative 🤓 and hence more profitable 🤑 . Overall, found the session to be enlightening and engaging 😊 . It was great to get into the weeds of what it takes to 'Lead' in times that are disruptive in an assortment of ways.

Join us at the 2023 WLC where Leading Women and Nicole Gionet will deliver an enlightening session on “Leading from the Top: Making the Tough Calls”. Senior leaders today must cope with extreme uncertainty and constant changes ‒ in consumer markets, finances, technology, political landscapes, etc. ‒ that require high-stakes decisions that could define their leadership. They realize that even under stressful or turbulent conditions, nothing relieves them of the fundamental obligation to make tough calls with conviction, exercise their authority judiciously, and take responsibility with confidence for the outcomes. Indecision can paralyze progress. Although there are no magic solutions, the best leaders adopt holistic, reason-based strategies for effective decision-making during disruption and crisis ‒ to ensure that short-term actions are aligned with long-term strategy; potential impacts and risks are balanced; and resources/investments are deployed to best support the organization’s goals. Register today to attend! https://hubs.li/Q01-5HyS0 Read more about Nicole here: https://hubs.li/Q01-5G8Z0 #2023WLCLV #TogetherWeWill #WeCanHelp Leading NOW #LeadingWomen Foundation for Women's Leadership & Empowerment
