Communities In Schools of Central Texas
Children
Across the country, 14.5 million kids under 18 live in poverty. These are disproportionately children of color who already struggle with issues of access and equity. Without community support, they are more at risk for missing school, dropping out and failing to earn a high school diploma. By helping our most vulnerable students stay in school and succeed in life, we are building stronger, healthier and more economically stable communities where every person is capable of reaching his or her…

"Do the Right Thing" Selling Diversity
SourceCon / ERE.Net
Now that you know how to “Do the Right Thing,” the next part of the question was how to sell this idea up the chain. In other words, how do you get the top of the corporate food chain to buy into the importance of having a diversity initiative? The answer is you don’t.

Three Million Networking Contacts and Counting
SourceCon
How do you source for high demand diversity professionals?
Great question! I had a boss who always told me, “You have over three million people to choose from in the U.S. alone!” Sure there are, but you and I both know that there are not three million qualified, ready, and willing candidates. And diverse candidates are not always easy to find. So get your message out there and let everyone you get in contact with know that you are sourcing for a position for a company with a focus on…How do you source for high demand diversity professionals?

Funny thing is, if you ask the client, they usually won’t tell you exactly what they want either. Most companies these days strive to have a diverse group of employees. But what does this mean for…So you learn the client you are recruiting for has a diversity initiative. Hold on…did you just receive a discriminatory job order? What the heck does diversity even mean? Funny thing is, if you ask the client, they usually won’t tell you exactly what they want either. Most companies these days strive to have a diverse group of employees. But what does this mean for recruiters that are tasked to find the diverse “ones?” We need to remain “PC” and keep our client happy. This is a very delicate balancing act. -
The Applicant Tracking System Isn’t the Problem. Recruiters Are.
RecruitingDaily.com
Before you bash your ATS, it’s important to take a step back and ask yourself whether or not you’re actually using it as intended. Because the thing is, the majority of recruiting and staffing end users utilize their applicant tracking systems as a resume repository and job posting platform, features which, while designed to make online recruiting a little bit easier, aren’t, in fact, a core functionality for which these systems were originally conceived and dedicated.
