    The building will be gutted, programmed, and redesigned into a modern customer service center for our citizens to access services from various city departments. The design will include modernizing the space relative to texture, finishes, lighting, and feel. The building will be functionally smart, healthy, and environmentally efficient with technology and green strategies having a prominent role. Self-service kiosks and stations will be incorporated into the space. The lower level will be for…

    The building will be gutted, programmed, and redesigned into a modern customer service center for our citizens to access services from various city departments. The design will include modernizing the space relative to texture, finishes, lighting, and feel. The building will be functionally smart, healthy, and environmentally efficient with technology and green strategies having a prominent role. Self-service kiosks and stations will be incorporated into the space. The lower level will be for primary customer contact. The top three (3) levels will be for office and meeting space. There will be a need to expand onto the northern side of the building to provide a multi-purpose meeting space to hold public meetings while maintaining the security of the office space in the existing building.

Designed by Gensler, the corporate headquarters offers space for more than 280 employees, meeting rooms, a fully equipped café, and employee coffee areas on each floor. The law firm’s office space also includes customizable collaborative spaces with operable Skyfold walls to control space size within their conference area. Delivered in six months, the first-generation office space provides Parker Poe employees and their clients a serene and private space to conduct business without interruption.

    The K&L Gates upfit at 300 S. Tryon covered over 55,000 sf across two floors. The upfit provided a grand reception area featuring tile flown in from Italy and polished concrete, breakroom/café area, new conference and meeting spaces including a large convertible multipurpose room. New offices were built throughout both floors as well as a new shower area/bathroom. The project was built in the tight four-month schedule.

    This project was a 35,000-square-foot renovation of AmWINS Group, Inc.'s sixth floor space in Charlotte's Coliseum Center. The renovated space includes open, modernized workspaces, cafe space, and conference rooms for AmWINS employees.

    The RAI Plaza Restack project covers a total of 314,000 sf across eleven floorplates. The current space is outdated, which has resulted in functions split across floors, no room for growth, limited collaboration space, and inconsistent office assignment protocol. The new space strives to evolve RAI’s work environment to foster innovation, collaboration and connectedness.

    The flagship, 7-level Dowd YMCA of Charlotte is undergoing a major renovation and expansion to include the consolidation of the YMCA of Greater Charlotte offices, construction of a new fitness center, the reconfiguration of wellness/fitness areas, a new circulation spine linking the new fitness center to existing tower, the renovation of existing spaces (locker rooms, child watch, offices, and lobby), and construction of a new 4-level parking deck across the street for 380 spaces.     The flagship, 7-level Dowd YMCA of Charlotte is undergoing a major renovation and expansion to include the consolidation of the YMCA of Greater Charlotte offices, construction of a new fitness center, the reconfiguration of wellness/fitness areas, a new circulation spine linking the new fitness center to existing tower, the renovation of existing spaces (locker rooms, child watch, offices, and lobby), and construction of a new 4-level parking deck across the street for 380 spaces. The front of the building was extended out toward Morehead Street, adding 52,000 SF of fitness space on three levels. The new space includes studios for classes such as yoga and barre, functional training space for CrossFit-style workouts, and a 6,000 square foot Atrium Health office. A new glass-and-steel facade affords views of Uptown Charlotte’s skyline from the track & exercise space on the roof of the addition, and a fitness stair combines egress with exercise.

  • Design Center of the Carolinas Renovations

    This 65,000-sf redesign of the Design Center of the Carolina’s front courtyard included hardscaping of greenery and patio spaces, core and shell upfits of three interior mixed-use spaces, and ground-up core and shell of an ice cream parlor.

The reception floor and executive floor include a reception desk, catered cafe with coffee bar, a 4,200-square-foot private terrace, oversized conference areas including a 1,800-square-foot executive board room, four 600-square-foot conference rooms, four private executive bathrooms, prep kitchen and a 2,200-square-foot Sky Room for training and telecommunications.

  • Duke Energy Little Rock Operations Center Renovation

    This project included renovations of an operations center in Charlotte, NC. The renovation was multi-phased over multiple floors which include approximately 7,000 sf of space while the facility was fully occupied. Renovations included Linemans’ Rooms, conference rooms, and new business units’ office space.

  • Duke Energy Mooresville Operations Center Renovatioon

    This project includes the demolition and upfit of the Mooresville lineman’s room increasing the size and versatility of their existing warehouse. This upfit includes three rooms in scope – lineman’s room, locker/storage room, and warehouse storage room. The lineman’s room will have 18 touchdown stations with a small breakroom area for their use. The construction schedule was during regular hours so our team had to work with and around the active linemen stationed on-site.

  • United Technologies Interior Upfit, Charlotte, NC

    This project consisted of the fit-out of approximately 52,000 sf of Class "A” interior office space. The scope of work included renovations to two high-end floors to accommodate United Technologies’ new divisional president and his team as well as the demolition and build-out of two additional floors for associates transferring to Charlotte.

  • Duke Energy – 526 S. Church Street, Trading Floor Renovation

    This project included the interior renovation of a 24/7 critical trading floor to accommodate the merger between Duke Energy and Progress Energy. The 10,000 sf renovation densified the number of Fuel and Systems Operations Group traders in the space and expanded the space to allow for 53 traders.

    Towers Watson decided to merge its two Charlotte offices located in Corporate Center and Charlotte Plaza into one new space on the 30th floor of One Bank of America Tower. This new 11,143 sf LEED Gold, Class “A” office space took advantage of the building’s ultra clear windows, 12’ tall ceilings, and improved indoor air quality through infusions of fresh air. The space has 24 closed offices with demountable office fronts on the interior core of the building and 32 cubicles located at the…

    Towers Watson decided to merge its two Charlotte offices located in Corporate Center and Charlotte Plaza into one new space on the 30th floor of One Bank of America Tower. This new 11,143 sf LEED Gold, Class “A” office space took advantage of the building’s ultra clear windows, 12’ tall ceilings, and improved indoor air quality through infusions of fresh air. The space has 24 closed offices with demountable office fronts on the interior core of the building and 32 cubicles located at the perimeter of the building to allow for optimum lighting. The space has two conference rooms, one which has a retractable wall that allows the conference room to operate as two separate rooms or one large room.

    This LEED Gold certified project includes the construction of a new 750,000 SF 30-floor office tower. The modern steel and glass building creates a state-of-the-art office environment with 30 floors of Class A office space and three lower floors of public and retail space. Administrative areas include low workstation panels and glass office fronts designed to maximize daylighting and views. Break areas include pantry and vending space and a range of tables and seating configurations for informal collaboration. Three-story Sky Gardens located in the NE and SW corners of all floors provide pleasant landscaped space for impromptu gatherings and team meetings. Sky Garden conference rooms feature spectacular views into the gardens below and include 60-inch flat panel screens, tackable fabric panels, and marker board walls.

    The auditorium features acoustic wood ceilings and walls offset by a large expanse of glass, permitting diffuse light to fill the space with black-out and solar shades also allow for various room darkening levels as needed. It contains technologically advanced equipment including large, lat-screen monitors with broadcast capabilities, a large rear projection screen, stage furniture convertible to multiple layouts from broadcast style to talk-show-style seating, and a fully appointed green room adjacent to the stage.

    A retail project consists of a 365,489-square-foot lifestyle center and a 228,949-square-foot market center, including site work. The scope of the project included a challenging, 100-acre turnkey site work package, including rock removal and underground utilities. In addition, the team completed 678,000 square feet of retail shell space and the interior build-out of Dick’s Sporting Goods, Michael’s, Cost Plus World Market, Linens ‘N Things, Petco, and Best Buy.

    This project included upfits to 65 plus Merrill Lynch Wealth management locations across the nation. The upfits, which encompassed renovations, expansions, and tenant build-outs of Class “A” office space for Merrill Lynch, adhered to Bank of America’s new design standards.

  • CBRE Charlotte Office Relocation

    Located in Charlotte Plaza, this 24,000-sf interior upfit included 3,250 sf of conference room space and had an accelerated schedule (nine weeks). Construction was performed at night. This project included high-end finishes and a lighting package and achieved LEED Silver.

    This approximately 2,000 sf interior fit-out project included a 25 foot long touch panel display screen to be used for fraud investigation operations. This project took place within a 100% secured critical environment facility where it was vital to have significant coordination to ensure zero downtime.

    Reconfiguration - The renovation of 25,158 sf of Class “A” office space on level 27 of the Duke Energy Center. This fast paced project was a success because of early involvement of the Architect and General Contractor who were able to release the long lead materials, such as lighting and Clestra demountable office fronts, to ensure a timely turnover to the associates.

    This innovative project includes IPD practices for the demolition of an existing space and a 40,000 sf interior fit out of the client's Video Network. The build out consists of two TV studios and associated support rooms including a data center, computer labs, editing rooms, green room, VIP area, as well as office/reception space.
