Good News Everyone!
I am delighted to announce the publication of our latest research paper now available on arXiv, is set to be presented at the prestigious CLEF 2023 conference, marking the culmination of countless hours of rigorous study, data analysis, and innovation.
The article, titled "Enhancing Biomedical Text Summarization and Question-Answering: On the Utility of Domain-Specific Pre-Training", takes a deep dive into biomedical text summarization using AI. Contrary to common belief, we demonstrate that in-domain pre-training doesn't always confer advantages in a biomedical summarization and question answering task. Instead, we propose a three-step fine-tuning approach that proves to be effective with only a thousand in-domain examples.
For those immersed in AI, biomedical research, or those curious about state-of-the-art approaches to data summarization, our study offers an insightful read. I welcome your feedback, opinions, and thoughts on our research. Let's engage in a meaningful discussion around the transformative potential of AI in biomedical text summarization. I'm looking forward to presenting our findings at CLEF 2023. I thank you all for your ongoing support, and special thanks to Marian-Andrei Rizoiu.
