On Wednesday, we spent the day helping local middle schoolers do some career exploration, while learning important money skills. About 65 students got to learn what it’s like to work at the credit union and how their skills could set them up for success. Thanks, parents, for sharing your bright kids for the morning. Next up is our High School Money Camp on August 9. Sign up coming soon!

Today we commemorate June 19, 1865, when — more than 2 years after the Emancipation Proclamation — Union Army troops arrived in Galveston, Texas, with the news that the more than 250,000 enslaved Black people in the state were free. Now officially a federal holiday, #Juneteenth celebrates this historic event. Today, we honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation. We also honor the families and friends they left behind and those who served with these fallen heroes. Did you know this tower in Richmond’s Byrd Park is the Virginia World War Memorial Carillon? It houses a massive musical bell instrument, and since its dedication in 1932, it has honored the Virginians who died in World War I. #MemorialDay #RememberAndHonor
