“Latham, you’ve been M.I.A. from LinkedIn, and you re-emerge with a (seemingly) non-work-related clip of a Fire???” Yes. Because I had to light this fire several times. Different starters, different mix, different positioning. It started, it stopped, started again, stopped again. Light, smoke, sizzle, out. I’d light, I’d wait, relight, wait some more. And, finally, it burned. The secret Formula??? I kept lighting it until it burned. Maybe you’re still chasing that long-overdue salary, that highly sought-after position, the perfect career at the perfect company, the opportunity to leverage your skills, to live your passion & purpose. What’s the Point??? Keep Lighting the Fire until you get what you came for.

If you're looking for a job and the primary factor is a bigger salary and higher compensation? That does not make you greedy, money hungry, or "applying for the wrong motives." Yes, there are a lot of factors to consider when applying for a job. Work that aligns with your interest and background, a good team, a supportive boss, great benefits, all that good stuff. But work is pretty much transactional and getting paid fairly is important. People want to be treated well and getting a competitive paycheck is an okay place to start.

These corporate goons dont get it NO ONE needs to stay and work for a company for 20 or 30 years anymore. If a better opportunity with better pay, benefits and more importantly value your time comes up then take it. No one is obligated to stay with given employer not to mention loyal because they are not loyal to you and will fire you without notice and they expect us to give a two week notice please. Stay at a place for 1 maybe 2 years and move on try different things and new technology get a more well-rounded technical skill-set.

Landing a new job is exciting (Especially if you secure it with Novo!) But what if your current employer throws a curveball: a counteroffer to try and keep you? This can be flattering, but also tricky. Here are the top things we think you should consider first (remember take a breath - you don't need to decide on the spot)... 🌟 Remember why you wanted a new job in the first place. Was it salary, growth opportunities, company culture, or a combination? 🌟 Look beyond the numbers. Is the pay raise substantial, or just enough to stall you? Are they addressing your core concerns about growth or culture? 🌟 Even if you accept the counteroffer, will things fundamentally change? Will you always be seen as a flight risk? Don't forget! Your Novo recruiter will always be on hand to discuss this with you in detail to make sure you're making the best decision for you!

I agree with the statement below but in reality Do people really consider praying for the working environment when praying for new jobs 🤷🏽♀️ or it’s just about how much the job will pay and the benefits that come with it?
