Give this a listen. United States Space Force Lt. Col. Jessica “Thumper” Getrost, Commander of the 57th Space Aggressor Squadron, and Lt. Col. Matt “BC” Bejcek, former Commander of the 98th Space Range Squadron, had a great discussion with the Mitchell Institute for Aerospace Studies about orbital warfare and the importance of developing Guardians to face today's challenges. #PrepareEveryGuardian #SemperSupra

For decades, United States Air Force test and training ranges, like the Nevada Test and Training Range and the Utah Test and Training Range, have provided aircrews with flexible, realistic, multidimensional battle spaces to conduct testing and advanced training. Though only a few years old, the National Space Test and Training Complex (NSTTC) functions as a space-based counterpart, providing unique opportunities for Guardians to hone their warfighting skills in the era of Great Power Competition. Capt. Anthony Guglielmo, 98th Space Range Squadron mission safety officer, acknowledges the concept of a space range can seem abstract to those outside of space-related career fields. He says it helps people to better conceptualize the range when he describes it like a “sandbox at the playground.” “In simple terms, it means that if you’re a space operator or a test engineer, who wants to come and test out your new equipment in space, we provide a safe, secure, supervised area with lots of different toys for your equipment to interact with,” Guglielmo said. 🔗 | Read more here: https://lnkd.in/g_XFs8FQ #PrepareEveryGuardian | United States Space Force

#ICYMI | In a historic first, students of the Space Test Course at the U.S. Air Force Test Pilot School successfully operated a satellite in space from Edwards Air Force Base last month. Previous classes have coordinated with commercial space providers to acquire satellite imagery to support multi-domain testing, dictating desired imagery and pass schedules, albeit without direct interaction with the satellite. May 20 marks the inaugural instance where United States Space Force STC Class 24A students issued commands to a satellite on orbit from Edwards thanks to a partnership with the Air Force Research Laboratory's Space Vehicle Directorate. 🔗 | Read more here: https://lnkd.in/g5PA7UWP #PrepareEveryGuardian | #SemperSupra

Once an Aggressor, always an Aggressor! Last Friday, Aggressor alumni gathered together to reconnect and honor their rich heritage. They shared captivating stories of Aggressor history, delving into the current mission and the evolution of the squadron! A special highlight of the event was the presentation of Maj. Spencer J. Roberts' helmet to the Aggressor "Wall of Fame." Maj. Roberts, a former instructor pilot from the 527th Tactical Fighter Training Aggressor Squadron, left a significant mark on the unit’s legacy. The 527th Space Aggressor Squadron traces its roots back to the 527th TFTAS, reactivated in 1976 as USAFE's sole aggressor squadron. Equipped with F-5E Tiger IIs, they trained USAFE fighter pilots in Soviet fighter tactics and frequently deployed to NATO airfields. Reactivated in September 2000 as the 527th Space Aggressor Squadron and transferred to the United States Space Force on July 24, 2020, the squadron continues its vital mission. We were truly humbled by this opportunity to honor the past and are grateful for the contributions of our alumni. Thank you for helping us celebrate their heritage and inspiring future generations of Aggressors! #PrepareEveryGuardian | #SemperSupra

#ICYMI | Last week, Space Training and Readiness Command's command team, Maj. Gen. Tim Sejba and Chief Master Sgt. Karmann-Monique Pogue, visited Patrick Space Force Base, the newly designated home of STARCOM Headquarters! During their visit to the #SpaceCoast, General Sejba and Chief Pogue engaged with Space Launch Delta 45 leadership, toured various facilities, and connected with community partners at the Florida Institute of Technology, Space Florida, and the University of Central Florida. Their visit underscored the importance of collaboration in advancing our mission to prepare the United States Space Force to prevail in competition and conflict through innovative education, training, doctrine, and test. The Department of the Air Force recently selected Patrick SFB as the location to host STARCOM Headquarters and Space Delta 10. We’re excited for the future and the opportunities this brings to our community and beyond! #PrepareEveryGuardian | #SemperSupra

Space Training and Readiness Command reposted this
🚀 We were super excited to welcome a distinguished delegation from the U.S. Space Training and Readiness Command (STARCOM) to Florida Tech on Wednesday! Led by Major General Tim Sejba, the STARCOM leadership team was on campus exploring dynamic partnership opportunities with Florida Tech. 🌟 Florida Tech’s location in the heart of the Space Coast and the university’s storied history in space and defense make us an ideal partner for STARCOM's training and research initiatives. We look forward to the possibility of harnessing our combined power and expertise to innovate and grow, together. #FloridaTech #USSpaceForce #STARCOM #SpaceCoast #SpaceDefense #UniversityPartnerships #SpaceInnovation #ResearchCollaboration #HigherEd #STEM #STEMeducation
