Programs range from education to elder programs, meeting the needs of six weeks olds to 93 year olds and beyond! We were thrilled to welcome Meg Medina, the Library of Congress' National Ambassador for Young People's Literature and Newberry medal-winning author, to UCC last week. Meg engaged our students with a funny and educational book talk, even inviting two UCC students to the stage to be "cuentistas" and give a mini book report to their fellow students. This week our Youth Volunteer Corps (YVC) students, along with middle school students from Bruce-Guadalupe Middle School and UCC Acosta Middle School attended a Career Exploration Workshop led by Annie Schoefeldt, Associate Attorney for Michael Best & Friedrich LLP. Students were able to hear firsthand about how the path to finding your perfect career doesn't have to look the same for everyone, along with the importance of keeping an open mind and never giving up on your dream!
