A few years ago, Dr. Kerri Becktell, a pediatric oncologist at the MACC Fund Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders, identified a gap in care. Kids were coming to Children’s Wisconsin with a genetic predisposition to cancer, but there wasn’t a central team to care for them. Dr. Becktell fixed that. “Before the Cancer Predisposition Program, patients came to Children's Wisconsin, but they were kind of spread all over the place,” said Dr. Becktell. “Our goal was to create a central program to be able to help serve the unique needs of these patients and families.” Read this blog post to learn more about this innovative approach to care Dr. Becktell is leading and one little girl whose life was forever changed. https://lnkd.in/gVEErJPh

"It's like a dance. It’s beautiful.” That’s how Fitim, supervisor of Supply Chain Invasive, describes his job preparing operating rooms for surgeries. “How everyone interacts and communicates with each other, and everyone knows exactly what to do at the right time, it’s quite beautiful how it all works out." Despite the beauty of how his team works together, Fitim learned quite a lot during Foundations of Leadership, a year-long program that offers training, resources and mentorship opportunities to new leaders at Children’s Wisconsin. “This program taught me new ways to build trust within my team, how to have meaningful conversions with employees, and the importance of recognizing each individual's preferences for acknowledgement,” he said. “This is such a great resource.” Do you want to work at an organization that truly cares about its employees and is committed to helping them grow and succeed? Join the Children’s Wisconsin team today! You can apply and search for available job openings at https://lnkd.in/eU9gjTaK.
