New lighting technologies and design strategies are producing significant benefits for patients sensitive to light and its intensity, or who experience limited exposure to natural daylight due to physical constraints or stages of recovery. This webinar will help designers create tailored lighting solutions using cycled white light, dim-to-warm, and tunable lighting technologies, and explore their potential circadian benefits in fostering healing within patient rooms. Join Lauren Schwade LC, EDAC, IALD, IES of Mazzetti and Katie Andersen of Perkins&Will as they shed light on these new technologies, design strategies, lessons learned, client expectations and budget considerations. • View our July 2024 Tools & Resources newsletter: https://loom.ly/Y5kVFQs Our monthly Tools & Resources newsletter features a variety of Center-produced resources to help inform our design community of the best and latest research, tools and design solutions. New and evolving prefab solutions provide healthcare architects, designers and providers with vast creative opportunities, customization and flexibility above and beyond what is typically possible – and affordable – in traditional drywall construction. To support improved care and enhance staff safety, today’s design, facility and care professionals must advance their understanding on the impact of modular design and prefabrication. • Learn more and register: https://loom.ly/vgFohIE Have you wondered whether Lean and Evidence-Based Design (EBD) can be part of the same project? EBD is the process of basing decisions about the built environment using credible research to achieve the best outcomes. Lean is a method that focuses on defining and maximizing value, eliminating waste and continuous improvement. To address today’s challenges, they need to go hand-in-hand. By integrating these value-based approaches during the planning, design, construction and occupancy of a project, you can maximize project outcomes while improving performance. Join us August 22 and 23 as we illustrate how the design and implementation process can be informed, complemented, and enhanced by an Evidence-Based Design (EBD) process that uses research findings, data collection and evaluation of results + a Lean methodology for problem solving and continuous improvement.

  • View the project: https://loom.ly/vBkYXwo The UPMC Presbyterian Lifestyle Village (LSV) submitted by HGA is an integral part of the new UPMC high-rise bed tower, opening in 2026. The vision for LSV is fourfold: to advance transitional support for families and patients, to serve as a thought leader in family-centered care, to fuel community well-being, and to support staff in work and life. Jurors stated that this is an exciting project that is poised to do a shared POE, especially with the focus on patient-centered design and the support of staff with their own customized spaces to reduce burnout.
